A sun tiara is a tiara combined with a sun talisman, and is worn in the headwear slot. Sun tiaras are used in Runecrafting to provide access to the Sun Altar located west from Lumbridge to craft sun runes from rune essence or pure essence. You need 17 Runecrafting to use it. It serves the same purpose as a sun talisman or a Sun talisman staff, except that it cannot be used to locate the Sun Altar. The tiara has no combat bonuses.
A sun tiara can be made by going to the Sun Altar with a normal tiara and a sun talisman in inventory and using either the tiara or the talisman on the altar, combining the the tiara with the talisman. Doing so provides 36.2 Runecrafting experience.
It is recommended to use a Sun tiara instead of a sun talisman. Wearing a sun tiara allows the player to enter the Sun Altar just as a sun talisman does, and since the tiara is worn, not carried in the inventory, using a sun tiara frees up an additional inventory space that would normally be taken up by a talisman. Thus, instead of being able to only take 27 rune essence to the sun altar, the player is able to take 28 rune essence. In addition, while wearing a sun tiara, a player can left click on the Sun Altar to enter it. Like the other tiaras, it is also much cheaper than a sun talisman, providing another benefit.
