The ring of runes is a ring that can store runes in it, which can then be consumed as if they are in the player's inventory for the purpose of casting spells, when the ring is worn in the ring slot. The ring of runes can be created with a silver ring (made using a regular ring mould), and the enchantment "Essence Store", which requires level 68 Magic.

Due to the ring's ability to store runes, it is considered one of the more useful rings despite its lack of combat stats. However, the ring has limits. To store runes in the ring, one must spend twice the amount of runes of runes intended to be placed in the ring. The ring can store up to five different types of runes at a time, and there can be only 500 runes in total at any one time in the ring. Runes can be removed from the ring for free, however: the runes spent in storing the runes in the ring won't be refunded. In addition, after the ring is charged to its full capacity, it cannot store any more runes: after the runes are used or removed from the ring, it will turn to dust. If the ring is lost due to death in a PvP situation, the ring wil always be destroyed and the runes will be dropped to the opponent. Finally, while multiple rings of runes can be own, only one can be used at a time: however, the ring can be used together with a small rune pouch and a large rune pouch.
