Ali the Hag chathead
Ali the hag (dream) chathead
Apprentice chathead

To begin the quest you need to talk with Maysa the Hag, Aadeela the Sorceress and the Sorceress Apprentice who are located near the Uzer Mastaba, the Pyramid that is found south of Uzer. The quickest way to get here is by taking a Magic Carpet Ride, but you can also use the Dominion medallion's teleport, use the eagle transport system or use the fairy ring with the code (DLQ) to land in the desert and run east to the pyramid. It's recommended to take a Desert amulet Camulet or Cramulet (upgraded after Camel Calamity) to teleport quickly to the next location in the quest.

  • Maysa the Hag: It's good to see you player, I was hoping to see a familiar face in this remote part of the desert.
  • Aadeela the Sorceress: So this is the player that helped you with your nightmare?
  • Player: Yes I am indeed, what are you doing here?
  • Maysa the Hag: I had another nightmare, after you gave me the potions they have become more clear then ever, and it became clear to me that I had to speak with my granddaughter.
  • Sorceress Apprentice: I'm here since Aadeela told me I had to come.
  • Player: Is your granddaughter one of these bandit looters?
  • Aadeela the Sorceress: No silly, we are looking for Leela. Though the Bandit looters do give us a hard time.
  • Player: You are Leela's grandmother? How do you know she's here then?
  • Aadeela the Sorceress: A mother always knows where her child is.
  • Player: You are Leela's mother?
  • Aadeela the Sorceress: Yes, there was a time that I loved Osman and I gave birth to a beautiful daughter, Leela. Once Leela was at a very young age Osman and I began to fight over how to raise her. Leela could be the possible heir of the first Pharaoh Queen and Osman and therefore he wanted to raise her with anything she would possibly need to make it as queen... But he was to harsh on her and I didn't agree with his theory that they are the heir to the Pharaoh but it turned out that they indeed are. Eventually I was forced to leave Leela behind by Osman.
  • Player: What do you mean?
  • Aadeela the Sorceress: Osman is not what he seems, deep down he has a cruel nature. I knew that he tried to kill me in hope that that would encourage Leela to become what he desired her to become. So to ensure that that wouldn't happen I left.
  • Player: That's a side of Osman I'm not familiar with... Though I can't say I'm surprised.
  • Aadeela the Sorceress: So I made my home not far from our house, eventually Osman tried to send some palace guards to assassinate me with the excuse that I am dangerous witch.
  • Player: What happened then?
  • Aadeela the Sorceress: Ever wondered where the spiders in my house came from? After he tried to do that he didn't do anything like that.
  • Sorceress Apprentice: The spiders are human? I accidentally stepped on one that other day!
  • Aadeela the Sorceress: *Sight* I told you to treat the spiders with respect... Oh well, what can you do.
  • Maysa the Hag: Can we return to why we are here? Player, do you happen to know where Leela is?
  • Quest details screen appears.
    • Accept Quest
      • Player: I do actually, she is inside the Mastaba. But do not enter the Mastaba as it is cursed.
      • Sorceress Apprentice: W-What do you mean cursed?
      • Player: Well people that are unwelcome will get their flesh withered away and become some kind of undead.
      • Aadeela the Sorceress: That's unfortunate, how could we contact Leela then?
      • Player: I happen to be able to enter the Mastaba without succumbing to the curse if you want I could ask Leela to come out.
      • Maysa the Hag: That's not a bad idea. Do that player.
      • Sorceress Apprentice: Great... So we just wait in this godforsaken desert while waiting for player? Yippee...
      • Aadeela the Sorceress: Player, before you go, do not tell her anything about Osman, I do not want her to doubt her father, even though he deserves it. If she is like me she will likely learn about Osman's darker side soon enough if she hasn't already. Also do not refer me as her mother or Alice as her grandmother, sometimes it's better not to reveal anything, she was to young to still know me I fear...
    • Reject Quest
      • Player: I am afraid I do not... Once I find her I will show you where she is.
      • Aadeela the Sorceress: That would help, thank you.

Enter the Mastaba and head to Senliten and Leela, you can pick the option to head directly to the Pharaoh queen to safe time. Talk with Leela or Senliten.

  • Senliten: Greetings, Player
  • Player: We have visitors, although they cannot enter the Pyramid...
  • Leela: Are they here with good intent?
  • Player: Yes, they came to ask your help Leela. The elder lady is seeing nightmares that may actually foresee the future, and although I solved it in the past it seems to include you. They would like to enter the Pyramid but they cannot with the curse active.
  • Senliten: If someone comes with good intent the curse won't harm them. I know there are seers that sometimes get visions within their dreams. If they do lie to get access in the tomb the curse will deal with them swiftly however, and else I might.
  • Leela: Player would you like to bring the guests here? Be careful though, the presence of the guests may bring in unwanted company, a fight might break out between those who may enter with good intent and those who want to enter with bad intent.

Return to the Surface, you can left-click Leela to quickly return or walk through the Pyramid. Speak with Ali, Aadeela and the Apprentice.

  • Player: You have been granted access to the Pyramid, the curse will not harm you.
  • Sorceress Apprentice: I hope it's not as hot as outside in there...

The trio will follow you enter the pyramid.

  • Bandit Looter Hey, what are you doing?
  • Bandit Looter That many people that wish to enter? The curse must be broken!
  • Bandit Looter Kill those people, else the curse may return!

5 level 42 bandit looters will attack the group. They are fairly easy to defeat as they have only 1.500 Life points and they rarely hit higher then 100. Ali and Aadeela will also aid you with magic attacks, while the Apprentice hits the looters with her broom. All 3 helpers will have roughly 5500 Life Points. Once you defeated all 5 one bandit looter will say.

  • Bandit Looter Have mercy, it isn't easy to work for mister Morrisane and we have nothing to show for... Thus we became ruthless...
  • Aadeela the Sorceress: Leave and do never return here.
  • Bandit Looter Alright, we will.

Enter the Pyramid, however you cannot instantly go to Leela and Senliten. The upper level of the Pyramid is no problem, as all you have to do there is open the doors towards the lower level, the lower level however has Small scarabs that will attack you and your company. Eventually you will come to the great puzzle floor that separates you from your goal.

  • Player: Watch out, here are traps, very dangerous, I will go first, you will need to follow me step by step.
Stepping on a... ...blue stone raises the red tiles No damage, although can block your path.
...red stone raises the green tiles
...green stone raises the yellow tiles
...yellow stone raises the blue tiles
Stepping from... ...green to red... ...triggers a trap. Anyone that does it will take damage.
...red to blue...
...blue to yellow...
...yellow to green...
Stepping from... ...green to blue... ... does nothing and therefore is safe.
...red to yellow...
...blue to green...
...yellow to red...

It's the same as the puzzle in Missing My Mummy but this time you are extra long, thus if someone behind you steps on red and you step on blue, both the steppers will receive damage! The followers only are able to survive 5 hit's per person, when the 5th hit comes they will teleport back to the entrance of the lower floor and you will have to start over. As the puzzle changes with every visit, you should check if it's possible to safely cross it and if not, go to the upper level and then return to the puzzle (careful for the scarabs!). If you are lucky that many tile's of 1 color will spawn so it's easier to cross the puzzle. Eventually you should be able to make your way to the Pharaoh queen and her heir.

The Plan[]

Talk with Leela or Senliten.

  • Senliten: Welcome in my temple. If you are here with good intent you are safe if you are here with bad intent the curse of the temple will slowly wither your flesh away.
  • Sorceress Apprentice: *Gasp*
  • Aadeela the Sorceress: Thank you for allowing us in your presence your excellency.
  • Leela: Welcome, have we met, you seem familiar...
  • Aadeela the Sorceress: I guess I am just one of those faces you saw in Al Kharid.
  • Leela: You were here because you wanted to tell me something?
  • Maysa the Hag: Yes, Leela if you haven't heard it already I repeatedly get nightmares that might foresee events that will happen in the future. It are most horrible events that usually end with the destruction of the desert by a gigantic serpentine being.
  • Leela: I hope that is not a forecast or anything...
  • Maysa the Hag: Let me retell the dream that I usually have...
  • As you know this dream you quickly lose attention, you begin to think about a strange object known as a space-bar and decides to space-bar through this dialogue, whatever that means...
  • Maysa the Hag: And then player and I where devoured by some gigantic black snake with blood red eyes!
  • Senliten: A snake you said? I think I once read something about Tumeken and some snake but I do not recall where it was about...
  • Player: What if Tumeken gave a Snake a piece of himself, similar what he did to the other lesser gods? What if he created a snake god?
  • Senliten: It is possible, player but unlikely. Tumeken gave a human and certain animals, a part of himself to ascend to godhood, but he only gave it to those he saws value-able. I might sometime recall what it was, but meanwhile it's time to create a plan.
  • A lot of talking and bla-bla so you quickly realize you are bored again thus you think about the gigantic rectangular object known as the legendary space-bar, you put your hands on it and begin to press softly...
  • Leela: And that may be a solution of all our problems! Did you get all that player?
  • Player: Oh, Erm... Yes... What was the first step again?
  • Leela: You should go to your friend Urluk from the Ugthanatos or camel warriors and ask if they also foresaw the gigantic snake that will appear. As we discussed the Ugthanatos have great methods to decide the future and they may prove to be a huge help.
  • Player: Alright, see you soon then.
  • Senliten: I feel something...
  • Leela: What is wrong?
  • Senliten: Many people with bad intent are coming, they want to loot the pyramid!
  • Maysa the Hag: Greed must have brought them here...
  • Aadeela the Sorceress: It may have been unwise from me to let those bandits go.
Mercenary Leader Chathead

The player, followed by Leela, Ali, Aadeela and the albeit unwillingly Apprentice. 12 Elite Mercenaries and 1 Mercenary Leader, will be waiting at the entrance of the pyramid they are all level 90 and look the same as the Mercenary Captain including with the Defensive shield from the Warriors' Guild in one hand and the Mercenary Leader will look like the Bandit king from Diamond in the Rough.

  • Mercenary Leader: Step aside please, we are being paid to ensure the path is free for the Bandit Looters.
  • Leela: If you take one step within the temple, you will end up as a skeleton due to the curse!
  • Mercenary Leader: If mere "girls" can enter the temple without a problem we should be able to do too.
  • Leela: If you plan to enter you will first have to go through us!
  • Mercenary Leader: Hahaha! Where did you learn to count? There are 13 of the best mercenaries in front of you and only 5 of you.
  • Sorceress Apprentice: He is right, won't there be another way?
  • Someone: Where did you learn to count? I count 6.
  • Ozan arrives and kills a mercenary.
  • Leela: Ozan what are you doing here?
  • Ozan: Saving your live, but there is no time to talk now!
  • Mercenary Leader: ENOUGH! KILL THEM ALL!
Ozan chathead

The Mercenary Leader and two elite mercenaries will attack you, Leela and Ozan will both use a strong ranged attack against their opponents, while Ali and Aadeela use magic and the Apprentice uses her broom to fight with her opponent, the Apprentice will run away if her life points get to low but she will not be killed. The Apprentice is the only one that fight only one opponent. The Mercenary Leader is able to use abilities, Pulverise and Smash being his favorite, and when Stunned he will react with Freedom. Every time you get hit with pulverize it reduces all damage that you deal by 25% for 30 seconds and he is able to freely use it without the use of Adrenaline. The Elite Mercenaries use Sever and Bash very commonly thus they are able to even further lower the damage done and stun the player! Still if you focus on the Elite Mercenaries first the Mercenary leader should not be a problem to deal with. Once you defeated your opponents look around for mercenaries that are not being killed yet.

  • Aadeela the Sorceress: Are you hurt?
  • Sorceress Apprentice: Yes...
  • The Sorceress use a magical spell to cure the Apprentices wounds
  • Aadeela the Sorceress: You fought well, maybe you are up for learning magic.
  • Sorceress Apprentice: Thank you my mistress.
  • Leela: Ozan, what are you doing here?
  • Ozan: Well... It's quite a long story... I or rather, "The Yellow Streak" was chased trough Menaphos after I was accursed of killing a worker I was trying to help... He was attacked by a swarm of greenish scarabs and he was killed by them. After he died they suddenly disappeared!
  • Leela: Scarabs attack Menaphos?!
  • Ozan: Yes, they arrive time from time, harassing the Menaphites. They are not as horrible as the Obelisk, but they are still horrible. The scarabs usually are harmless yet annoying, but these where nothing but aggressive cold blooded killers! And after a short while they mysteriously disappear, I should have known they would as they always do... However a guard saw me and a dead man and he thought I did that of course. The entire guard of Menaphos on my back, and the new Pharaoh...
  • Leela: There is a new Pharaoh?
  • Ozan: Yes, your father, I would expect you to know that?
  • Leela: Father became Pharaoh? Why didn't he say that?
  • Ozan: I don't know my Princess, but Osman is a lot more clever then that usurper was, my hideout was found and I had no choice but to flee out of the city...
  • Leela: That still does not explain why you are here...
  • Ozan: Well I ran out of places to go, Al Kharid is closed and out of the respect for the Emir I won't return there and Menaphos has become to dangerous to me so I decided to go halfway, literally. I went to Pollnivneach. There I quickly learned about the Horned Beetles, a criminal organisation that rivals The Skulls and then I heard that they were sending mercenaries to raid the Pyramid which I knew you were in and I just couldn't let them hurt you, Leela.
  • Leela: Thank you Ozan, without your help I am not sure if we would be still be standing here.
  • Ozan: You are most welcome Leela. Anyway, Menaphos under Osman's control isn't how it used to be. Leela I hate to say it, but prior Osman things where horrible yes. But now things may be even far worse. Osman appears to be more controlling then his predecessor, he is very distrustful, even acting against his allies and he considers people to be expendable! He has a very controlling nature and now he became Pharaoh that is more clear then ever!
  • Leela: Oh dear. Ozan come and talk with me inside please. Player could you talk with the Camel Warriors and then return here? And you ladies thank you for your help, for now I will have to ask you to go to Al Kharid to continue with the plan, but we will stay in touch.

It's all within the sands[]

Urluk chathead

Make your way to the Ugthanatos Pyramid on the Camel Warriors island. You can get there very quick by using the upgraded version of a Camulet or Cramulet. Enter the Pyramid and talk with Urluk who is located there.

  • Urluk: It's good to see you again player. Guess what... I've become head of the Spiritual Department!
  • Player: That's good to hear! I was wondering if you could help me with something.
  • Urluk: I would do anything for you after what you have done for the Ugthanatos. You have reunited us with the world!
  • Player: I heard the Ugthanatos have some methods to tell the future?
  • Urluk: We actually do, why do you ask my friend?
  • Player: Well a friend of mine, Maysa, is having a recurring nightmare which she thinks that could be a forecast... I was hoping if you could use your foretelling methods to confirm this, or rather be able to disclaim it.
  • Urluk: That does sound like a good reason. Meet me outside of the Pyramid.

Go outside of the Pyramid there you will see Urluk. Urluk grab's sand and throws and uses his magical staff to stir it in the wind.

  • Urluk: Are you ready player?
  • Player: Ready for what?
  • Urluk: Once I'm done with Stirring of the sand I will drop it on this rock and we may be able to see a event that will happen in the future.
  • Player: Alright I hope it works...
  • Urluk: Holy Sands of the Desert I call on your wisdom and request to show a dangerous event that will happen in the future so we can prevent it from happening!

Urluk Sprinkles the sand on the rock.

Camel Foresee Sand

The Image Created in the Sand.

  • Urluk: Oh no... The sand clearly created a image, if we would be safe we wouldn't see anything!
  • Player: It looks like some kind of rogue dune with enormous marram grass on it... In a sandstorm...
  • Urluk: It has some letters on it, it's very ancient Menaphite Language. I can read it... It reads: "Tuska Comes".
  • Player: What is Tuska, a huge dune?
  • Urluk: A dune wouldn't be a disaster... It may however be created to stop the disaster from happening. Whatever Tuska is, it looks to be somewhere around the coast... Perhaps even next to the unholy temple where "the Prophet" was being imprisoned?
  • Player: You mean Enakhra's Temple where Akthanakos was being held captive? Whatever disaster it is, it doesn't look like a snake at all...
  • Urluk: I must do more research about this Tuska and ensure that the disaster could be stopped. Thank you for warning us on this topic, even though it may not be the answers you were looking for, you might have stopped another disaster!
  • Player: You are welcome, best to return to Senliten, Leela and maybe even Ozan.
  • Urluk: Tuska...

Return to the Uzer Mastaba and go to the Pharaoh Queen's room and talk with any of the persons within.

  • Leela: Did you learn anything valuable from your time with the Ugthanatos?
  • Player: I did not get information about the snake disaster but I did get to see something about a dune-or-something-like-that named Tuska that might threat the desert...
  • Ozan: A dune? What kind of disaster is that? Oh no watch out a gigantic dune will destroy us all! Said no one... Ever...
  • Senliten: It's not wise to make jokes about possible future disasters. A disaster could start really small and will begin to spread until it's to gigantic to be stopped. The invasion of ancient one, that led to the destruction of our prosperous lands, began with simple skirmishes between the two factions eventually resulting in a huge war and eventually forcing Amascut and Icthlarin to ask help to the Faceless ones. They were a huge help at first but eventually switched to the ancient ones side and that resulted with Tumeken sacrificing himself to protect our lands, with a huge cost. Not only were the prosperous lands turned into a desert, it also presumably resulted to the corruption of Amascut.
  • Ozan: I am sorry your highness...
  • Player: But what do we do now?
  • Leela: Haven't you been listening to the plan?
  • Player: In truth I wasn't really paying attention...
  • Leela begins to scold you, you want to use the space-bar again but it seems to be unwise to do that now...
  • Ozan: Leela don't be to harsh on him, I didn't listen either.
  • Leela: You weren't there when we discussed the plans!
  • Ozan: Touche.
  • Leela: The plan was for you to go to the Grand Library of Menaphos and possibly find anything that has something to do with a snake as that's our only clue right now.
  • Ozan: You know I cannot enter the city of Menaphos, the whole guard is looking for me. They properly still are as even though they where chasing me I managed to escape very sneaky. They may not even know I am gone...
  • Leela: I was really talking with player. Ozan I have a different task for you.
  • Ozan: You've my attention princess.
  • Leela: Stop calling me princess! But Ozan, you should go to the Ruins of Ullek.
  • Ozan: You mean that waste swamp east of Sophanem?
  • Leela: Yes, back when Osman and I still spoke to each-other he told me that player had encountered the high priest of Scabaras there.
  • Ozan: What does Scabaras have to do with a snake?
  • Senliten: We need to find Scabaras to protect him from Amascut, he is the only god that hasn't been corrupted by Amascut yet. Maybe the high priest has some clue for you how to find him. I would have asked player for this as he is familiar with the tunnel system that could be used to get to him but you will do too.
  • Player: The Scabarite Hive is located underground in the Ruins of Ullek area on the plateau, just north of the archaeologists who have made their camp there, in an area full of aggressive skeletons go inside one of the ancient doors, that were the city's former storage chambers and tombs. Once you are in you should go to the great door in the west, I've opened the door earlier so you can get too the main room.
  • Ozan: Camp, Plateau, Skeletons, doors, great door in the west, main room, High Priest. Safe for the Skeletons that doesn't sound too hard.
  • Player: I was not finished. The Scabarites do not like to be disturbed, their religion indicates that they must be isolated from anyone and they will most likely try to kill you they are poisonous and more importantly numerous, the area is full of traps some where created by the Ullek people themselves and some where created by the Scabarites. Make you way to the far north west corner until you see a door. Once you are through the door you are relatively safe as the High Priest will not attack anyone unless offended.
  • Ozan: So he get's to relax in the library while I have to risk my life too talk with some sort of beetle priest?
  • Leela: You could always try Menaphos if you prefer that.
  • Ozan: Then I think I still prefer the bug people...
  • Senliten: Ozan, when Leela was gone, when I was alone, all I ever saw where these Scarabs, the bigger scarabs are aggressive, but the smaller hide themselves. The scarabs despite being a animal saw themselves as guards of the Pyramid. It's important that you can find Scarabas especially since Amascut will likely have sent a agent to this job as well.
  • Leela: Could you do this task?
  • Ozan: I won't disappoint you, princess.
  • Leela: Stop calling me a princess, I am not a princess!
  • Ozan: I will be going now.
  • Ozan leaves.
  • Leela: Player could you go to the Grand Library of Menaphos and search for any possible book about a snake?

The riddle and the Booksnake[]

Kohnen the librarian chathead
Aristarchus chathead

Make your way to the Grand Library of Menaphos underneath the Golden Palace in the Imperial district of Menaphos. You can get here quickly by making use of the Lodestone to get the the centre of Menaphos, making use of The Pharaoh's Sceptre or the Sceptre of the gods to directly teleport to the Golden Palace (named Jalkabir) or by using the Nature's sentinel outfit to teleport to the acadia trees which are directly outside the Library and talk with either Kohnen the librarian or Aristarchus the scholar.

  • Player: Hello, I have a question. It may decide the future of all people that live within the desert!
  • Kohnen the librarian: Keep your voice down! This is a library!
  • Player: *Whispers* Hello, I have a question. It may decide the future of all people that live within the desert.
  • Aristarchus the scholar: *Whispers* The future of all people that live within the desert? That sounds serious... What is your question?
  • Player: *Whispers* I need to know something about a snake, would you happen to have a book that gives information about snakes?
  • Kohnen the librarian: *Whispers* A snake you say? What kind of snakes? I got "How-to-cook-a-snake-a-guide-that-include-98-different-methods" I have the "Snake charmer manual for beginners", "Why the fable that a snake does use hypnosis exist", "I got bitten by a snake what should I do?", "A view to all different type of snake", "How to skin a snake", "7 shocking snake stories", "Ali Baba and the snake", "How to download Snake II for your phone", "How to keep a snake as a pet", "Why is the animal from Slytherin a serpent?", "Why do most books about snake go about snake instead of serpent", "Secret's of snakes", "What a snake likes to eat", "How Rattle Snake's warn others", "How to win a staring contest from a snake" and many more.
  • Player: *Whispers* Why do they make that many books about snakes?
  • Kohnen the librarian: *Whispers* Many books about snakes? You should see our crocodile collection. But if you are not really sure what book you are looking for, you can always ask the Sundial in the heart of the library.
  • Player: *Whispers* How does that sundial work then?
  • Aristarchus the scholar: *Whispers* The sundial is a ancient item, dating back from the first Grand Library of Menaphos. "Noah Wyle, the first grand Librarian" enchanted the Sundial so it can be used to find the book you wish to read, even if the one that searches it doesn't know what he is looking for. If someone lends the book and leaves the pyramid with it, then the sundial can be used to find the person that did lend the book.
  • Player: *Whispers* That must be a highly magical artifact and it would certainly help me, could I use it?
  • Kohnen the librarian: *Whispers* Well we have a problem with it.
  • Player: *Whispers* What do you mean with problem?
  • Kohnen the librarian: *Whispers* The Sundial needs a code to activate, as some unwanted persons abused it in the past... My predecessor forget to give me the codes... Not that he could, his execution went to fast to make these preparations... All he did gave me is a clue. I believe it was.
  • Kohnen the librarian: *Whispers* I am not a Sphinx, but do I give riddles, my first is shared with the city where I stand. My second is shared with the lord of the light, the god of the sun which you prefer. My third and fourth are the shared with my first, but my third is also shared with Tumeken and Apmeken. My last is in the beginning of you. Together I form someone whose passing was with great honor and I should be used to activate the Sundial.
  • Player: *Whispers* What could this possibly mean?
  • Aristarchus the scholar: *Whispers* The city where I stand should be Menaphos, but what first mean I do not know... And the lord of light might be Tumeken, but what is his second? The first, whatever it is, is the same as the third and the fourth. The third is shared with Tumeken and Apmeken as well... And the last is in the beginning of you. Where does a man begin...
  • Player: Menaphos shared with the first. The second is shared with Tumeken. The Third and Fourth are shared with the first, the third is also shared with Tumeken and Apmeken and the last is the beginning of me?
  • Kohnen the librarian: *Whispers* Seems very specific, how could the Sundial know it was you that would open it? And why doesn't the riddle name you...
    • Can I hear the clue again?
      • Dialogue repeats.
    • I think I know it what should I do now?
      • Kohnen the librarian: *Whispers* You do? I don't know how you solved it but if you really think you know you should use the Sundial to activate it.
    • I will never find this riddle out, how can I ever solve this?
      • Aristarchus the scholar: *Whispers* This riddle seems to be created by a Sphinx as proven by the fact that it does mention a Sphinx, if you really do not know maybe you should ask the Sphinx for help.
      • Player: *Whispers* I seen a Sphinx in Sophanem, maybe she could hep me.

If you do know the answer you could skip the part where you have to talk with the Sphinx.

Sphinx chathead

Talk to the Sphinx who is located north of Klenter's Pyramid in Sophanem. For this part you will have to take a cat with you else she will simply ask about where you do keep your your cat.

  • Player: Good day.
  • Infobox: The Sphinx ignores you.
  • Sphinx: Ah, how interesting...a cat. Come here to me, kitty.
  • Cat: Meow.
  • Infobox: Your cat and the Sphinx converse in a yeowling language for a short time.
  • If [Player wearing a Catspeak amulet.]
    • Sphinx: Do you think that you'll be able to communicate with me at a deeper level because you're wearing that amulet of catspeak?
    • Player: Ummm, yes.
    • Sphinx: Foolish human, am I not part human? The Sphinx shakes her head in bemusement.
  • Player: I need help.
  • Sphinx: What with? Your cat tells me that you have held The Devourer at bay.
  • Player: I need help with the sundial at the bottom of the Menaphos Library, it works with a riddle that I cannot solve, I think.
  • Sphinx: I am afraid I cannot help you with that. In the ancient times men asked the wise Sphinx to create riddles to keep their valuable treasures safe and by the honor of the Sphinx I cannot help you.
  • Player: I understand you are bound to their trust, but it's really important that I crack the clue. The future of everyone, humans and all others that live within the desert might depend on it.
  • Sphinx: I am honor-bound not to tell you. As I know you have changed things within the desert and you come with good intent, I might be able to give you a hint, to bring you to the right direction.
  • Player: That would help me indeed.
  • Sphinx: I am not a Sphinx, but do I give riddles, my first is shared with the city where I stand. My second is shared with the lord of the light, the god of the sun which you prefer. My third and fourth are the shared with my first, but my third is also shared with Tumeken and Apmeken. My last is in the beginning of you. Together I form someone whose passing was with great honor and I should be used to activate the Sundial.
  • Sphinx: If I am not mistaken that was the riddle we gave mankind to protect the sundial?
  • Player: Yes that was the riddle indeed. We also figured that the first would be Menaphos, the second would be Tumeken, the third would be Tumeken, Apmeken and the first, the fourth would be the first and that the last is in the beginning of me.
  • Sphinx: No, you are on the right path on most things, but it is not in the beginning of me, it's in the beginning of you.
  • Player: What is the difference?
  • Sphinx: I can't answer that without breaking my oath. What do Tumeken and Apmeken have in common?
  • Player: They are both desert gods? Part of the Menephite Panteon?
  • Sphinx: Yes, but there is something else they share, do not think about the gods the letters create but the letters.
  • Player: Apmeken, Tumeken. Wait... Do you mean... Meken?
  • Sphinx: Now we are getting somewhere. What do Menaphos and Meken have in common?
  • Player: They all start with a M?
  • Sphinx: For human standards, you are not stupid to bad these are kept so low... But it indeed starts with a M.
  • Player: Menaphos first is a M, thus the first letter is a M, that also means that the third and fourth letters are a M?
  • Sphinx: Yes player, and these are all the hints I give you for free. If you wish further help I want to keep your cat as I do not want the poor cat to be with someone who is incapable of solving a simple riddle.

You can choose to sacrifice your cat, or if you already happen to know the answer, go to the sundial and click on inspect.

  • What do you think that the code is to activate the sundial?

You will get the possibility to type anything.

  • Player: [Repeats whatever you typed].
  • Nothing interesting happens.
  • Player: What? [Repeats whatever you typed]!
  • Again nothing interesting happens.
  • Player: Hmph! [REPEATS WHATEVER YOU TYPED]!!!
  • Do you really expect anything to happen, [player]? It won't. There is a grinding darkness against which your soul shall be lathed. And this is Xau-Tak.
  • Kohnen the librarian: How many times do I have to repeat myself! Keep your voice down! This is a library!
  • Player: Why isn't it working? Maybe I should speak to the Liberians as they might know what to do...

Make your way back to the librarians.

  • Kohnen the librarian: *Whisper* Do not forget to whisper.
  • Player: *Whisper* There is something wrong, I kept saying the code. I really thought I knew it but when I said it nothing happened.
  • Aristarchus the scholar: *Whispers* The sundial might not work like that. Shall I walk with you to take a closer look?
  • Player: *Whisper* That may work.
  • Kohnen the librarian: *Whisper* Fine, but keep your voice down.
  • You walk with Aristarchus down to the Sundial, it's a pleasant walk almost like you do not have to do it yourself.
  • Aristarchus the scholar: *Whisper* As I thought. The sundial is full with ancient menaphite symbols, that form the Menaphite script.
  • Player: *Whisper* Menaphite script? How does that work?
  • Aristarchus the scholar: *Whisper* One second I will search the translation scroll for you.
  • Aristarchus goes to a nearby bookcase and takes a scrolls and then walks back to you.
  • Aristarchus the scholar: *Whisper* Here is a translation scroll, good luck.

Sundial Solution Desert finale

The solution to the sundial puzzle.

Enter the code on the sundial, using the translation scroll. If you got the right code you should be able to write: first lettersecond letterthird letterfourth letterfifth letter. Then the sundial will light up.

  • Sundial: Welcome to the Grand Library of Menaphos. If there is a book you like to search place your hand on the sundial.
  • You place your hand on the Sundial. The Sundial scans your hand.
  • Sundial: Processing data.
  • Sundial: You are likely searching for the book "Seruraeus the serpent". Unfortunately this book was burned by one of the previous Pharaohs book burning's thus it is no longer within our collection.
  • Aristarchus the scholar: Was there a backup created?
  • Sundial: Processing data.
  • Sundial: I am afraid there was not, the transcript was never uploaded in me either, thus the book could be removed from my database.
  • Player: Do you happen to know what Seruraeus is?
  • Sundial: Processing data.
  • Sundial: Access denied.
  • Sundial: I am afraid this data-file is locked.
  • Player: Locked? What do you mean?
  • Sundial: Locked. In this context it means a protected program unable to access by most people.
  • Player: Is there anybody who could unlock this data?
  • Sundial: The data could only be unlocked by the highest authority from Menaphos, The Pharaoh.
  • Aristarchus the scholar: I guess I have to ask Osman if he could unlock the information.
Oreb chathead

Go to the Golden Palace. As soon as you get there a cutscene will play. A Soul obelisk will have spawned, and Corrupted Scarabs will roam next to the obelisk. Suddenly the scarabs will greatly increase in size, becoming about as big as the scarabs seen in Sophanem Slayer Dungeon and the Soul obelisk will turn red.

  • The Magister: People from Menaphos, hear me or be destroyed! I am "The Magister" and soon I shall become your new ruler!
  • You will see many people panicking.
  • The Magister: It came to my understanding that there is a individual known as [Player] in your midst!
  • You will see some people look your way.
  • The Magister: I want you to banish him out of Menaphos, he has been meddling with my plans for too long!
  • You will see some Menephites run towards you aggressively
  • Player: Oh no, better get out of here!
Menaphite guard chathead

The route to the Main Plaza will be blocked by angry people. Quickly run towards the Shifting tomb obelisk and go to the Merchants district. Guards and civilians will attack you, and the scarabs will attack you as well! Once you get to the gates of the city the guards will more then happily let you out.

  • Menaphite guard: And stay out for good this time! (You can return freely anytime during the quest, but story-wise that wouldn't make sense. This quest however isn't meant to lock someone out of their beloved city, therefore you can freely return.)
  • Player: As I am locked out of Menaphos, I think I should return to the Mastaba and talk with the people inside. (You can return freely anytime during the quest, but story-wise that wouldn't make sense. This quest however isn't meant to lock someone out of their beloved city, therefore you can freely return.)

Change of Plans[]

Return to the Uzer Mastaba and talk with Leela, Ozan or Senliten.

  • Leela: Welcome back player, did you found out anything about the mysterious snake?
  • Player: Do you happen to know what Seruraeus is?
  • Ozan: It does sound familiar...
  • Senliten: Even I do not know anything about Seruraeus, I doubt you will...
  • Ozan: Still, it does sound familiar...
  • Player: Now you mention it, I may have seen something too in the past but I cannot remember what...
  • Leela: Did the grand library have a book about Seruraeus?
  • Player: It was burned with a book burning and no copy was made. Safe for the title it does no longer exist... I was wanting to ask Osman's help, but before I could things in Menaphos started to get really crazy!
  • Ozan: Why what happened?
  • Player: Well, the obelisk spawned again, that's normal on Menaphos but this time the scarabs spawned as well!
  • Ozan: I've seen them both at the same time once, that isn't that especial to be honest...
  • Player: The scarabs massively grew in size and the Obelisk became red, and then "the Magister" spoke to the people within Menaphos!
  • Ozan: The Magister? Not him!
  • Leela: What? Ozan do you happen to have information about the Magister?
  • Ozan: When I was back at Menaphos, near the shifting tombs I picked up some things... The Magister is a Necromancer and maybe Amascuts most loyal servant. He somehow twists the souls of the death to become corrupted or even soul devouring monsters!
  • Senliten: That is not good... That's not good at all! Twisting someones soul results in the soul being in eternal pain!
  • Ozan: I also presume that he is behind the Sophanem Plague!
  • Player: He is capable of bringing diseases to living people too?
  • Leela: And what happened then? What did the Magister say?
  • Player: He has plans to rule over Menaphos...
  • Ozan: He would be even worse then Osman!
  • Player: And he wanted me to be banished out of the city, thus I had to flee.
  • Ozan: You are banished out of the city too?
  • Player: It seems so, strange how these scarabs got the both of us banished... Almost like the Magister wanted that to happen! (You can return freely anytime to Menaphos, but story-wise that wouldn't make sense. This quest however isn't meant to lock someone out of their beloved city, therefore you can freely return.)
  • Senliten: Then the Magister has plans for the city of Menaphos! We must act quickly. Ozan told me about his adventure with the High Priest of Scabaras.
  • Ozan: If you do not mind me you highness, I will tell the story.
  • Ozan: So here I was, after going trough the most horrible cave system I even been trough, safe maybe for the Temple of Light maybe.
  • Player: You've been at the Temple of Light too?
  • Ozan: Oh yes, [Player] you are not the only friend of the elves. Besides I needed to practice my thieving.
  • Leela: Typical...
  • Ozan: As I said after I been trough the cave full with scarabites, traps and even more scarabites, I met the High Priest of Scabaras.
  • Ozan: When I met the High Priest of Scabaras, he was very aggressive at first and he tried to kill me.
  • Leela: That isn't strange behavior Ozan, everybody who see you for the first time has that.
  • Ozan: *Sigh* Leela, you take away the dramatic plot of the story.
  • Ozan: Where was I. Met him, tried to kill me... But eventually he calmed down and I used my charismatic abilities and my good looks to win him to my side. When I asked him about the location of Scabaras, he told me that he didn't know, Scabaras lives in Isolation, even from his worshipers that live inside the ancient ruins of Ullek. I fearing that my quest turned out to be pointless, asked him if he could do me a suggestion as the fate of the desert might depend on it.
  • Player: Did he say anything useful?
  • Ozan: Well I was hoping you would ask. He told me a little myth about the origins of the Kalphites. Once Scabaras was in great pain, being wounded by a unknown enemy, and his blood dropped on a scarab, turning them into the first Kalphite.
  • Senliten: So you suggest that he is hiding around the Kalphites? A interesting theory.
  • Ozan: I was getting to that... But I believe there are two lairs withing the desert.
  • Player: The king's lair and the queen's lair, I've both fought them in the past.
  • Ozan: Indeed, the original hive was the Queen's lair, eventually she gave birth to a very powerful male and the queen, fearing for her live, exiled the King when he was still a grubling. The Exiled Kalphites are somehow even more powerful then their not-exiled variant. What if the presence of Scabaras causes that?
  • Senliten: Brilliant thinking Ozan. It might be true. I suggest you three to go to the Exiled Kalphite hive and search for Scabaras.
  • Leela: Going to the Kalphite Hive might be dangerous, Player I suggest you to prepare for combat and then meet us outside of the Exiled Kalphite hive.
  • Player: That's a good idea, but what do we do with Seruraeus the serpent?
  • Senliten: Right now I do not think it is important, but it may be in the future.

Corrupted bugs[]

Equip yourself with combat gear, and make your way to the Exiled Kalphite Hive, you can teleport to the Bandit Camp or Menaphos lodestone, use the Magic carpet to get to the Menaphos location and walk north or use the Jaldraocht teleport from the Pharaoh's sceptre or Sceptre of the gods, step through the door, and run down the pyramid and round towards its South face. The teleport to Enakhra's Temple from a camulet or cramulet could also be useful.

  • You catch Leela and Ozan in a conversation.
  • Player: What did I miss?
  • Leela: Oh nothing...
  • Ozan: Yes, absolutely nothing...
  • Player: Yeah right...
  • Leela: Are you ready to enter the hive? Be careful as it won't be safe down there!
    • Yes.
      • Ozan: Let's go into the hive then.
    • No.
      • Ozan: Come back when you are ready friend.

First Ozan, then Leela, then the player will enter the hive.

  • Ozan: Oh no, this cannot be good...
  • Leela: What has happened here?

You will see the insides of the exiled Kalphite Hive, but there are green spores everywhere. The tunnel shortcut towards the Kalphite King is blocked with debris again. The cave is full of Corrupted Kalphite Marauders and Guardians.

  • Ozan: That must mean that The Magister has been here!
  • Leela: Or he is still here! He must be looking for Scabaras!

The group will get attacked by the Corrupted kalphites.

  • Ozan: We must pull back and regroup!

You will find yourselves outside the hive.

  • Ozan: They are even more dangerous then they normally are!
  • Leela: Player you should prepare yourselves. Are you able to kill these corrupted kalphites?

If your slayer level is below 100.

  • Player: I don't think I can... We should at least take some Feathers of Ma'at with us to stand a chance... And I think the Keris could be useful as well.

If your slayer level is below 100.

  • Player: I think I can but we should at least take some Feathers of Ma'at with us to stand a chance... And I think the Keris could be useful as well.
  • Leela: Then could you bring us some feathers? I think 100 for each person should be enough... to be safe... [Player] could you bring us 300 Feathers of the Ma'at and the Keris?
  • If you happen to have these items in your inventory.
  • Player: I happen to have these items with me.
  • Leela: You expected the hive to be corrupted? Sometimes I forget how experienced you are with danger.
  • Ozan: Or he simply carried a lot of junk with him and got lucky...

Collect the items and prepare to enter the hive.

  • Ozan: Am I imagining things or has the hive became more corrupted?
  • Leela: No, I can almost feel the corruption now... Oreb must be still here!
  • The Magister: Ozan... Leela... [Player]... your presence here is unwanted.
  • Player: He must have heard us!

You see a few corrupted kalphite further in the hall, they explode and the ceiling collapses.

  • The Magister: You shall not pass!
  • Leela: He must have forced the kalphites to explode themselves so our path is blocked.
  • Ozan: That is cruel... But maybe I can still navigate through the tunnels.
  • Leela: What do you mean?
  • Ozan: I am a master of agility, sneakiness and I think I should be able to get myself trough the tunnels and be able to remove the debris so we can continue our path.
  • Leela: And how do you plan to do that?
  • Ozan: I think I should be able to navigate through the Kalphite tunnel.
  • Leela: Yes... I doubt that will work Ozan.
  • Ozan: No worries, princess.

Ozan climbs trough the Kalphite tunnel.

  • Ozan: Ehm... we may have a problem...
  • Leela: Don't tell me you are stuck?
  • Ozan: No... But a little push could help me.
  • Leela and the player push Ozan trough the Kalphite tunnel.
Corrupted Kalphite Hive map

A map of the route you will take.

You will assume control over Ozan. The first room will be full of aggressive Corrupted Kalphite Marauders. Run directly south.

Kalphite worker chathead
  • Kalphite worker: What are you doing here? You distract us from our work. The bangs are worse then enough!
  • Ozan: Wait... you can talk?
  • Kalphite worker: Of course I can... What kind of question is that? If I couldn't would we be having a conversation?
  • Ozan: Touche. How do I got to the Kings location?
  • Kalphite worker: You mean our majesty? What do you want from him?
  • Ozan: Well I fear he is in great danger...
  • Kalphite worker: In that case go west, you must safe the king!

Go to the west. You will see another kalphite that blows himself up.

  • Ozan: Common you cannot be serious?
  • The Magister: I don't know how you came this far, but I will blow up the entire cave if I have too!

Some aggressive Kalphite Guardians will spawn, quickly turn back.

  • Kalphite worker: Another bang?
  • Ozan: Yes, our enemy is blowing up Kalphites to prevent us from going there... I didn't even know they could do that.
  • Kalphite worker: That's horrible! A Kalphite only blows himself up when he is in danger!
  • Ozan: How can I get further?
  • Kalphite worker: Maybe try the large hall in the south west, it goes to the queens lair. We usually use the hall to bring her diner.
  • Ozan: Great... The queen is very dangerous... Isn't there another way?
  • Kalphite worker: It bugs me that you do speak so bad about the queen.
  • Ozan: ...

Go to the south western hall and follow it until you arrive at the end.

  • Kalphite worker: Bug off. It's not yet dinner time for our queen, though if you would like to wait until she is hungry, that would be great.
  • Ozan: Are you all making bug related jokes?
  • Kalphite worker: I bug to differ? Our bug related jokes are hilarious.
  • Ozan: I need to go trough, the king is in danger
  • Kalphite worker: If the King is in danger why do you go to the queen then?
  • Ozan: As any other way of getting there is inaccessible.
  • Kalphite worker: What do you mean?
  • Ozan: I ant having time to explain.
  • Kalphite worker: Did I heard a bug pun here?
  • Ozan: Yes maybe...
  • Kalphite worker: Your joke was hilarious, you seem to be okay. Feel free to pass.

Walk through the tunnel in the north... The room will be full with corrupted Kalphites.

  • Ozan: Oh this is going to be though...

Activate protect from melee or magic and run north, another Kalphite Bombs himself to block the path.

  • Ozan: Oh common!
  • The Magister: My dear Ozan... Don't you learn? I can do this all day, but you are becoming tired.
  • Ozan: What should I do now?
  • Exiled Kalphite Queen: How dare you to betray me!
  • Ozan: Maybe if I help the queen, she can help me?
Exiled Kalphite Queen Chathead

Enter the Exiled Kalphite Queen's lair. She will be attacked by two Corrupted Kalphite Marauders and two guardians all level 110. As she is in her first form the Marauders won't be able to hurt her.

  • Exiled Kalphite Queen: A human? And I thought things couldn't get any worse! I am not hungry yet!
  • Ozan: I am here to help!
  • Exiled Kalphite Queen: Then help, I don't think I can hold myself much longer against these abominations!

Ozan fights with powerful ranged attacks, it is recommended to let Ozan attack the Marauders first as not only he is strong against them (since they are weak to ranged), if the queen enters her second form then the guardians won't be able to kill her. Alternatively you can focus on the guards, voking both of them so she remains safe in her first form. The fight will not be too hard as the Queen is able to hit high on her targets. However if she dies you will have to start over. Once her attackers are dead the queen will start to talk again.

  • Exiled Kalphite Queen: What a good luck that you came as I am hungry now...
  • Ozan: What?
  • Exiled Kalphite Queen: Hahaha just kidding, thank you for saving me.
  • Ozan: Seems like the workers do not have their jokes from a stranger...
  • Exiled Kalphite Queen: I bug you pardon? Anyway, is there anything that I can do in return?
  • Ozan: Well as you saw the Kalphite turn into horrible corrupted creatures and I think the source of it is coming from the kings room...
  • Exiled Kalphite Queen: No, not my husband!

The Exiled Kalphite Queen will climb/fly (depending on her stage) out of her lair. She will ram herself through the wall, quickly follow her. Some Kalphites will explode, standing in a explosion will cause huge (up to 5.000 LP) damage. Eventually you will reach the tunnel that leads to the Kalphite King. When you click on it Ozan will say:

  • Ozan: I better let my friends, Leela and [Player] in, whatever is down there, I won't be able to do it alone, not even with the help of the queen.

Unblock the tunnel that leads to the entrance, Leela will come inside, followed by the player.

  • Leela: What took you so long?
  • Ozan: Let me think... Avoiding exploding Kalphites, saving the life of the queen, teaming up with the queen, making bug jokes... I think it were the bug jokes... Anyway it is good to know that you are worried princess.
  • Leela: I was not worried, I simply ran out of patience!
  • Ozan: Yeah right Princess.
  • Leela: Stop calling me princess!
  • Player: Don't we have a job to do?
  • Ozan: You are right... Enter the instance on my name!

The King and The Magister[]

Click on Enter Tunnel and then you will get a joke interface of how it usually looks.

Click on Join Ozan to enter the instance.

Kalphite King chathead

As soon as you enter a cutscene will play. You will see The Magister that has the Kalphite King in a hold using magic. You can see a soul obelisk in the middle of the room.

The magister and the Kalphite King

The Magister and the Kalphite King.

  • The Magister: So you made your way down here? As impressive as it is, it doesn't matter.
  • Exiled Kalphite Queen: Stop hurting my husband!
  • Kalphite King: AAAAAARRRRRGGGGGHHHHHHH!
  • Leela: Stop it, can't you see he is in pain?
  • The Magister: No. His suffering will make Scabaras appear!
  • Ozan: What do you mean?
  • Kalphite King: AAAAAARRRRRGGGGGHHHHHHH!
  • The Magister: Scabaras won't be able to watch this horror much longer. In time he will come here!
  • Player: Why do you want that?
  • The Magister: So I can let my master corrupt him of course!
  • Leela: You are nothing more then a lowly agent of Amascut!
  • The Magister: I am so much more then that. I overpower the most mighty Kalphite ever born on my own!
  • Exiled Kalphite Queen: Leave my husband alone, take me but do not hurt him anymore!
  • The Magister: Don't worry queen, after I am done with him you will suffer the same fate! And now be prepared to be destroyed!
  • Player: *Whispers* We must stall time, as long as he has hold over the Kalphite King we cannot hurt him, he may kill the king!
  • Ozan: I understand.
  • Kalphite King: AAAAAARRRRRGGGGGHHHHHHH!
  • Ozan: I know who you are!
  • The Magister: Really? Amuse me.
  • Ozan: You are the dreaded Oreb, the Magister of House Charron, the necromancer from Teragard, the reason why the Soul obelisks and Corrupted Scarabs keep plaguing the people from Menaphos, the reason for the corruption below Sophanem and that Sophanem has the plague!
  • The Magister: Almost all your claims are right, impressive. I am not the reason for the Sophanem plague, but I most welcome it since it keep bringing me souls I can experiment on. I wonder where have you learn so much about me?
  • Ozan: I learned about your... your monstrous activities, while I was near the Shifting Tombs as Jack of Spades! I assume you corrupted these tombs too?
  • The Magister: Oh no, though I find these tombs most amusing... No, my master is behind that.
  • Leela: There comes a day that Amascut will be done with you and finish you off!
  • The Magister: I doubt that would happen, if anything I might finish Amascut off myself once I gained anything I could get from her.
  • Player: What! You monster! You are nothing but a traitor!
  • The Magister: You dare to accuse me of being a traitor? I am the most loyal servant my master could wish for! He will reward me greater then anyone else!
  • Ozan: What does you master benefit from the plague? And did you master cause it?
  • The Magister: He benefits from death! No he didn't start the plague, the corruption of Het did, but he does ensure that it doesn't end. But... I begin to become tired of the conversation! You have staled more then enough time...
  • Ozan: He knew?
  • The Magister: ... for me to corrupt the king!
  • Corrupted Kalphite King: WWWWWRRRRRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!
    Corrupted Kalphite King
  • Exiled Kalphite Queen: NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

The Exiled Kalphite Queen attacks The Magister, who then shoots a powerful blast of magic, if she was in her first form she wouldn't get any damage (the first form of the Kalphite Queen is immune for magic and ranged), if not the Magister will hit 10.000 on her lowering her life points to 40.000. If he wasn't able to hit her (because the queen was in her first form), The Magister will say:

  • The Magister: Of course... Your unbreakable armour is able to protect you from my magic, but does it protect you from your husband?

And then Kalphite King uses the Beetlejuice attack on the Kalphite queen, instantly sending her to her second phase on 40.000 LP remaining.

  • Ozan: What a strength... Leela, [player], the Queen, we must stop The Magister and the King, but be careful for them!
  • Exiled Kalphite Queen: I cannot attack the King, I will fight the Magister.

Attack The Magister and he will say:

  • The Magister: You dare to attack me? Feel the wrath of the Magister!

And he will hit 5.000 LP on you, also you will get the message You do need to have at least 117 slayer to attack this monster if you have not have reached 117 Slayer. Try to attack the Corrupted Kalphite King, you will get the message You do need to have at least 150 slayer to attack this monster.

  • Player: 150 Slayer? I think we have a problem then!
  • Ozan: Avoid their attacks until we find a solution for this!

The Kalphite King will use one of it's legs to attack Leela.

  • Ozan: Leela be careful!

Ozan pushes Leela aside.

  • Leela: Are you alright?
  • Ozan: Watch out!

The Kalphite king will charge towards the duo and they can narrowly avoid it. The Magister begins to cast avoidable spells towards the player. Eventually after 1 minute the Kalphite King will prepare a unavoidable beetle juice attack to the player.

  • Player: Help! V...

Then he activates his instant kill attack and the player falls dead to the floor.

By the Gods[]

Icthlarin chathead

Then Icthlarin will teleport next to the player using the animation that also could happen if the player dies.

  • Icthlarin: It's not your time. Hold on [Player] you did great.
  • The Magister: Icthlarin? It's like searching for silver and find gold instead!
  • Icthlarin: You, you have been corrupting souls for too long!

Icthlarin and the Magister begin to fight. Mainwhile Ozan distracts the Kalphite King and the Queen put aside her respect for her husband and decides to (carefully) fight him. Leela will bend over the player.

  • Leela: [Player], are you alright?
  • Player: I think I am... Icthlarin must have saved me.

Het, Apmeken and Crondis will teleport in aiding Icthlarin in his fight against the Magister.

  • The Magister: You are luckily that my master isn't here... Yet. We shall meet again Icthlarin!
  • The Magister teleports away.

The Kalphite King activates his beetlejuice special on the Kalphite queen, but Icthlarin safes her by creating a shield.

  • Icthlarin: We must leave, right now we will not be able to purify nor defeat this abomination. We must find a way so we can.

You, Ozan and Leela will meet the 4 gods outside, along with the company of the Exiled Kalphite Queen.

  • Exiled Kalphite Queen: What about my husband?
  • Icthlarin: I am afraid that this corruption has spread to deep... We alone will not have enough strength to purify him...
  • Exiled Kalphite Queen: I hope you will do anything to do that. The sun is drying me out... I am used to live in underground area's not to the lands above where the sun is burning in my skin...
  • Icthlarin: The workers below are not corrupted by The Magister, they can help to make a emergency home

for you.

  • Exiled Kalphite Queen: That's a good idea but won't the Magister come back and try to corrupt me?
  • Icthlarin: No, I think The Magister will be looking for Scabaras at another location, also I won't leave your hive unguarded.
  • Exiled Kalphite Queen: Then I will go back into my hive.
  • The Kalphite Queen goes back into the exiled kalphite hive.
  • Het: Maybe if we find Scabaras, only with his help we are able to solve this problem.
  • Apmeken: Together with Scabaras we stay strong.
  • Crondis: But Scabaras is a master of hiding... We've searched him for so long and we haven't found him yet... I wonder if we ever can find him?
  • Player: Wow Crondis you have lost a lot of weight!
  • Crondis: Why? Thank you!
  • Apmeken: Although the more the merrier, I wonder if it wouldn't be wrong if we bring him out of his isolation...
  • Het: Eventually someone will bring him out, and it's the question whenever that someone will be good or evil.
  • Icthlarin: You spoke well. Does anyone know anything that could help to cleanse the corruption?
  • Player: Well, there are feathers that help me defeat such creature, normally they are unable to be killed unless you have a feather of Ma'at.
  • Icthlarin: Ma'at you say? That's fortunate to hear. Het, Apmeken and Crondis try to find out where The Magisters went too, do not split up we cannot risk that he attacks either of you. If you do not manage to find him try to do something about the plague that plagued Sophanem for so long.
  • Het: Understood.
  • Het, Apmeken and Crondis teleport away.
  • Icthlarin: This brings back old memories. As you may know the Desert was once in war with the The Dark Imperator and we were so desperate that my sister and I went to Freneskae in search for help. We found various brutish creatures, creatures with four arms but no legs, like a snail, full of spikes which run down its spine and a spiky tail...
  • Player: You must be talking about the Muspah!
  • Icthlarin: Indeed. We were looking for warriors, not beasts, then we encountered various monstrous creatures but eventually we found the Mahjarrat. They are a warlike, very powerful magical race but I thought we could tame them. I wish I didn't take my sister to Freneskae because that is where she became ill...
  • Ozan: Ill? She turned into a monster!
  • Leela: *Whispers* Ozan, she is his sister!
  • Ozan: My apologies Icthlarin...
  • Icthlarin: It's alright Ozan. After we took a large proportion of the Mahjarrat to Gielinor to fight our wars, I didn't saw how inhumanly evil they where. I got distracted...
  • Leela: Why what happened?
  • Icthlarin: I fell in love with one of the Mahjarrat, Sophaphos a beautiful female Mahjarrat. She was wise, kind, unlike the rest of her species she really gave hope to the people of the desert. I forgot to look to the other Mahjarrats, I only had eyes on her... Eventually the Mahjarrat Sliske a particularly dangerous and untrustworthy Mahjarrat turned his Zarosian enemies into undead wights, a truly evil act. I woke up from the beautiful dream and it became a horrible nightmare instead. Sliske prevented the dead warriors from moving to the afterlife and eventually he forced me to release his stolen souls. This resulted in him becoming the first turncoat... the first of many that would eventually result in Tumeken sacrificing himself... Many Mahjarrat joined Zaros, but a few Mahjarrat such as Temekel, Lilith, Anubian, Bedabin, Kalphos, Woestijn and Sophaphos decided not to switch sides. There are Mahjarrat who likely joined Zaros under social pressure, I assume Akthanakos didn't really wish to leave his camels behind and join Zaros...
  • Player: Akthanakos indeed still holds some loyalty to the desert, I think.
  • Icthlarin: Eventually the Mahjarrats Lilith, Bedabin, Kalphos, Anubian and Temekel where eventually slain throughout the conquest attempts that the armies of Zaros kept trying. Some still have their name somewhere within the desert as we used to hold them in high regard. Sophaphos was the last Menaphite Mahjarrat to be alive and she was about to die the same way as Woestijn did, lack of energy.
  • Ozan: What does that mean?
  • Icthlarin: If I Mahjarrat doesn't take part in a certain ritual he will start to wither and eventually they will disappeared in a flash of bright white light. A unhealthy Mahjarrat begins to get a skeletal face, and eventually parts of his face will crumble, in the end the gem on the forehead will go black and breaks. I saw this horrible fate happen to Woestijn and I couldn't let this happen to Sophaphos as well. I bound her into a bird's body, similar to how Amascut was bound into a human body. From that moment I named the graceful bird Ma'at, my nickname for her. The Ma'at is still as wise, kind and grands hope to anyone as she was as a Mahjarrat.
  • Leela: You really loved her didn't you?
  • Icthlarin: Yes. I did. I advice you if you ever find a partner, love her like I did and never let her go.
  • Ozan: That's good advice, but what does this have to do with anyone?
  • Icthlarin: As her feathers have the ability to cleanse corruption alone, perhaps her full presence could revert the King back. Her song is even more pure then anything else.
  • Player: Where can we find her then?
  • Icthlarin: I am afraid I don't know, the Ma'at used to come to Menaphos every full year when it was Midsummer and sang to the people of Menaphos, to give them hope there was a whole ritual around it.
  • Ozan: I've heard about that ritual, a lot of dancing and music right?
  • Icthlarin: Indeed. One time however the Pharaoh ordered her to be captured, and the people from Menaphos plucked her feathers while she was alive and caged, presumably because he believed them to posses a magical power. Almost anyone in Menaphos wears a feather necklace, therefore the corrupted Scarabs and obelisks do not really hurt most Menaphites.
  • Leela: That's cruel to do that to a living creature!
  • Ozan: Is she still imprisoned in Menaphos?
  • Icthlarin: No, I'm happy to say that eventually she managed to escape. I don't know how she did but she must have help, someone felt pity for her. Right now she presumably has made her nest on the top of the mirage pillar. It is a mysterious pillar, that is higher then the clouds and impossible to climb by anyone... Which appears at various places from time to time... It's origins are unknown even to me...
  • Player: Is she still a part Mahjarrat inside?
  • Icthlarin: Yes, she has the looks of a bird but she has the soul of a Mahjarrat.
  • Player: Then I might have a idea, I once had a compass that could be used to track Mahjarrat, I used it to find Akthanakos and although not intended, Enakhra.
  • Ozan: That could certainly be useful, do you still have it?
  • Player: I am afraid that I destroyed it and buried it somewhere in the desert...
  • Leela: Why would you do that?
  • Player: A friend of mine, who also gave me the artifact, told it to do so as Enakhra knows about it's existence.
  • Leela: Do you still happen to know where you buried it?
  • Player: I followed the Compass to the area north of the Desert Mining Camp. to find Akthanakos and once I found it I destroyed it and buried it somewhere there.
  • Icthlarin: Find it player... I must go back to escort the souls of the fallen across the River Noumenon... I have lingered here for to long.
  • Icthlarin teleports away.
  • Ozan: I am going too, I have a idea!
  • Leela: That's something for my journal! 32 Bennath 169 "Ozan had a Idea".
  • Ozan: Very funny princess, but it may be a huge help later.
  • Ozan leaves the group.
  • Leela: I better go back to the Mastaba.
  • Leela travels to the west.
  • Player: Now... where did I hide the compass again...

The Compass[]

Meerkat chathead

Go to the area north of the mining camp and take the Meerkats pouch and Fetch casket scrolls with you. Keep digging to ground until eventually after some time the player will say:

  • Player: I cannot find the compass and digging in this heat isn't a pleasure... Maybe the use of meerkats could help me dig it up...

Summon the Meerkats and activate Fetch casket scrolls a few times until you eventually find the broken compass.

  • Player: Alright I got the compass, or what's left of it... I hope I do not cross my path with Enakhra now... I wonder how I should fix this thing... Maybe Ali the Wise could help me.
Ali the Wise chathead

Make your way to Nardah and go to Ali the Wises house and talk with him.

  • Player: Hello my friend.
  • Ali the Wise: Hello player, what brings you to my home?
If you have completed The Temple at Senntisten but no quest after that.
This quest dialogue is aimed for players that do have completed The Temple at Senntisten and therefore is safe to read, given that you have all of the requirements mentioned above.
  • Player: Like you asked me, I destroyed the compass.
  • Ali the Wise: Good job player.
  • Player: I was wondering if there would be some way to repair it...
  • Ali the Wise: It might be repairable depending on how much you destroyed it, yet I wonder why you wish to do that.
  • Player: I am looking for a Ma'at.
  • Ali the Wise: You mean a Mahjarrat?
  • Player: No... A Ma'at is a unique bird like creature, that contains a long deceased Mahjarrat's soul.
  • Ali the Wise: You mean a Mahjarrat managed to somehow transfer his soul to the form of a bird? That's interesting... Do you have any information about which Mahjarrat it is?
  • Player: The female Mahjarrat Sophaphos...
  • Ali the Wise: I've read about her, yet very briefly, she is a Mahjarrat that remained loyal to the Menaphites if I am not mistaken.
  • Player: Indeed she was... I need to find the Ma'at to cleanse some of the deserts corruption.
  • Ali the Wise: I'm not sure if it is wise to repair the compass... Enakhra might have informed others about it.
  • Player: Don't you trust me with that artifact?
  • Ali the Wise: Of course I do trust you player, you've really helped me with my research, but can you fight against a Mahjarrat? I know she has the ability to take control over someones mind.
  • Player: Yes she attempted it on me and I will not let that happen again, as my willpower increased she began to lose hold over my mind.
  • Ali the Wise: You are really determined aren't you? I will probably regret this but I shall see what I can do. In return I would like you to do something. The Mahjarrat General Khazard has send a scout to the desert in order to learn more about the situations that happen here and I think it won't be long before he find me and my research.
  • Player: What do you want me to do about it?
  • Ali the Wise: Khazard is a dangerous warlord and anything he learns about the Mahjarrat could be disastrous for mankind, I think it would be best for us if you either could get rid of him or else take the scout out...
  • Player: I agree, but where is he located and how should I kill him?
  • Ali the Wise: I don't know his location but earlier I saw him by the Muspah statue east of the Desert Mining Camp so he might be nearby. I think as long as you are able to see him you should be able to kill him with any weapon, however it might be useful to equip yourself with Khazard armour to catch him off guard. Good luck player!
If you have completed Ritual of the Mahjarrat.
This quest dialogue is aimed for players that do have completed Ritual of the Mahjarrat, at least to the point where you have defeated a mahjarrat and therefore might contain spoilers!
  • Ali the Wise: Please do not shorten Mahjarrat like that, it sounds a bit insulting if you do that.
  • Ali the Wise: I've known her, she was a Mahjarrat that remained loyal to the Menaphites.
  • Player: Indeed she was... I need to find the Ma'at to cleanse some of the deserts corruption.
  • Ali the Wise: I'm not sure if it is wise to repair the compass... Enakhra might have informed others about it.
  • Ali the Wise: Of course I do trust you player, you've really helped me in the fight against Lucien, but can you fight against a Mahjarrat? I know that she took control over your mind earlier.
  • Player: I will not let that happen again, as my willpower increased she began to lose hold over my mind.
  • Ali the Wise: You are really determined aren't you? I will probably regret this but I shall see what I can do. In return I would like you to do something. The cowardly child Khazard has send his scout back to the desert after the Ritual and he began spying on me. As Khazard knows my identity I assume he know's I am a Mahjarrat as well.
  • Player: What do you want me to do about it?
  • Ali the Wise: Khazard might be a coward but with an agent so close to me he could become troublesome. I think it would be best if you either could get rid of him or else take the scout out...
  • Player: I agree, but where is he located and how should I kill him?
  • Ali the Wise: Sadly race awareness only works on other Mahjarrat... I saw him by the Muspah statue east of the Desert Mining Camp earlier but when I tried to kill him he managed to escape... I assume he fled into the Shadow realm... Still he should be nearby. I think as long as you are able to see him you should be able to kill him with any weapon, however it might be useful to equip yourself with Khazard armor to catch him off guard. Good luck player!
Scout (Shantay Pass) chathead

Make your way to the Muspah statue, you will find the Scout if you wear the ring of Visibility. If you have not equipped yourself with Khazard armour he will say:

  • Scout: I saw you were looking at me, you won't catch me!

And then he will teleport away.

  • Player: Maybe I should catch that jumpy scout of guard some way...

If you are equipped with Khazard armour he will say:

  • Scout: Did General Khazard finally send another scout to take my shift? I've been in this forsaken desert for too long.
  • Player: Erm... Yes, any new information?
  • Scout: Well there appears to be a new ruler to Menaphos... It appears that there has been some activity in Uzer as many dark wizards went there... Also suddenly a lot of monkeys have made their base there, I wonder if there is any connection with them and the monkey king, would they try to conquer the desert?
  • Player: Interesting, any further news?
  • Scout: The location of the Compass is still unknown. Keep an eye out for "Ali the Wise", he seems to know I spy on him... His information could be most useful... Yet I doubt I will be able to interrogate him myself since I think he is...
  • Player: *He knows about the compass! Enakhra must have told them.*
  • Scout: ... you cannot image how surprised I was to see one of them within the desert!
  • Player: Yes I bet you were... Anything about Enakhra?
  • Scout: I assume she has ordered her followers to search for it as well, we must find it before she does...
  • Player: *So they are not working together... I wonder if Enakhra kept the secret for herself?*
  • Scout: ... our master. Are you okay you seem to be drifting off a bit when we talk.
  • Player: Oh, it's nothing, just the desert heat.
  • Scout: Yes I know, even within the shadow realm it's really warm.
  • Player: *I should really focus!*
  • Scout: Oh before I forgot, some important looking person recruited some warriors from Pollnivneach to blow up a pyramid in the east or something like that by using bombs.
  • Player: *A pyramid in the east? That must be the mastaba!*
  • Scout: You look shocked, are you really doing fine?
  • Player: I have to go I be right back!

Go to the Mastaba you will see 10 Pollnivneach bombers and 5 Mercenaries fighting with Leela.

  • Leela: Good that you came player as you can see I can use a hand! The Mercenaries got me distracted, could you stop these bombers?

Kill the 10 bombers, they are not hard to kill but you need to kill them swiftly else they will blow up the Mastaba and then you need to start over. The use of ranged and magic in combination with multi-target attacks (especially Corruption Blast or Shot) could be beneficial. If you are able to succeed Leela will talk with you.

  • Leela: Three attacks on the mastaba so shortly after each other, this is no longer coincidence.
  • Player: Someone must be behind this, we are luckily that they didn't attack the pyramid while we were in the Kalphite Hive...
  • Leela: I wish Ozan was here. I mean I could really use his help. But did you already find the Ma'at already?
  • Player: No, I somehow heard that there where people going to blow up the pyramid. But I should continue with what I was doing. Leela take care, I will be back as soon as possible.
  • Leela: Good luck player.

Return to the Scout.

  • Scout: Are you feeling better?
  • Player: Yes I think I do...
  • Scout: You were acting really strange, so I decide to contact lord Khazard and he revealed something funny...
  • Player: ...
  • Scout: ... He send a replacement months ago! What took you so long?
  • Player: I got distracted underway...
  • Scout: Yes, right... Are you sure that you didn't really feel up for the task?
  • Player: Maybe...
  • Scout: You abandoning your duty is not something Khazard likes... You will hear from General Khazard soon.
  • Player: Great...
  • Scout: But I be going back to good old Port Khazard.
  • The scout walks away.
  • Player: That was easier then I expected, I didn't even had to kill him... Maybe return to Ali the Wise now.

Return to Ali the Wise in Nardah and talk with him.

  • Player: I've managed to get rid of the scout...
  • Ali the Wise: Well done player! It did cost me a lot of effort but I managed to repair the compass. I am not sure if it works however... Now I will have to attune it to the Ma'at.
  • Player: And you need 100 Elder energies and something personal for that if I am not mistaken?
  • Ali the Wise: Yes but 250 Luminous energies or 100 Cursed energies might work too.

Give Ali the Wise a Feather of Ma'at the energies.

  • Ali the Wise: If everything is right you should be able to use the compass now. Do not forget it to destroy it after you use it and this time for good.
  • Player: Yes Ali I will.
  • Ali the Wise: I hope that you won't abuse the trust I have for you.

The Ma'at[]

Follow the compass it will lead you to a super high pillar that is located somewhere in the desert, the location is different for anyone and may change if you log out or even if you teleport!

  • Player: Hello? Ma'at are you there?
  • You hear nothing except for the sound of the wind
  • Player: ... I might have to climb this to see the Ma'at...

The player tries to climb the pillar but eventually falls.

  • Ozan So you found the Ma'at?
  • Player: Yes, I think I did... But where are you? I don't see you. And what are you doing here?
  • Ozan I saw you earlier using the compass, as you seemed to be really focused I didn't disturb you and decided to follow you.
  • Player: Well thank you, but why are you here?
  • Ozan The pillar is unclimbable by men thus I decided to bring a Eagle.

The player looks up and sees Ozan flying on a Eagle. Ozan then lands and the eagle rests.

  • Player: Ozan, you are brilliant!
  • Ozan: Thank you, could you tell that to Leela too?
  • Player: I sure will, but if we fly shouldn't we perform the ritual?
  • Ozan: I happen to have a guitar and a beautiful voice, maybe if you could use another musical instrument we could do the ritual. Can you play on a snake charm?
  • Player: Yes I can, why do you ask?
  • Ozan: I usually have a snake charm with me, you know the saying even snakes are afraid of snakes?
  • Player: No not really...
  • Ozan: Well I am a bit afraid of snakes, a little bit of Ophidiophobia isn't unhealthy... I think. Thus I keep a snake charm with me.
  • Player: Nothing wrong with a bit of precaution, I guess.
  • Ozan: So we are able to make music, I think if we steer the eagle into dance like maneuvers we may be able to attract the Ma'at.
  • Player: Sometimes I think you are smarter then you appear...
  • Ozan: There is one problem though, steering is really though on a eagle...
  • Player: Wouldn't a sphinx be better?
  • Ozan: A sphinx? Of course! Brilliant! How could I think about eagles first? One seconds.

Ozan holds his hands to his neck like he is chocking himself.

  • Player: What are you doing?
  • Ozan: Miaaaaauwwww!
  • Player: Seriously what are you doing?
  • Ozan: Miaaaaauwwww!

Two sphinx appear flying towards Ozan and the player. The sphinxes look different then the one seen in Sophanem, wilder and more animalistic.

  • Player: Don't tell me you did summon them with this voice?
  • Ozan: Good then I don't...
  • Player: How did you knew that would work?
  • Ozan: Let's say that these two rogue Sphinx owe me a favor... It's a long story.
  • Sphinx: Ozan we are no longer in debt with you! How dare you to be using calling us?
  • Ozan: Oh yes I forgot about the big heist...
  • Sphinx 2: Leave us alone!
  • Ozan: I am sorry but I really need to fly to the top to perform some ritual...
  • Sphinx: And why do you think we would help you?
  • Ozan: I could always solve another riddle to be granted another favor?
  • Sphinx 2: And what do you put at stake?
  • Ozan: See that young man/woman there? If I cannot solve your riddle you can eat him/her.
  • Player: What? I didn't agree to this.
  • Sphinx: Interesting, we got a deal. If you cannot solve our riddle we will eat him/her, and if you can you will fly on us to get to the top to perform some ritual.
  • Player: I want to fly too!
  • Sphinx: That's not the deal!
  • Ozan: Are you afraid that I can solve the riddle?
  • Sphinx: You are right, you cannot solve my riddle again. Sure feel free to fly on us if you manage to solve it. But now you are limited to one minute to solve the riddle!
  • Sphinx: I find myself awake, when it is still morning it has 12 legs.
  • Sphinx 2: I walk and by the time it is noon it has 6 legs.
  • Sphinx: I keep on walking and by the time it is evening it has 9 legs.
  • Sphinx 2: Tired from the day I stumble at the end of the day without having legs. What am I?
  • Ozan: When I awake in the morning I have 12 legs... Then it must have woken up very strangely...
  • Sphinx: 45 seconds...
  • Ozan: At noon it has 6 legs, apparently it loses legs...
  • Sphinx 2: 30 seconds...
  • Ozan: In the evening it has 9 legs, whatever it is it can regrow half of his legs?
  • Sphinx: 20 seconds...
  • Ozan: And the end of the day it has no legs?
  • Both Sphinxes: 10 seconds!
  • Player: Ozan!
  • Ozan: The answer you seek is 3 men.
  • Sphinx: You knew that all the time didn't you?
  • Ozan: Yes, but I just wanted to give you enthusiasm.
  • Sphinx 2: Get on my back so we get over this.

Both player and Ozan climb the Sphinxes and they begin to fly.

  • Ozan: Tally-ho!
  • Sphinx: Grrrrrrr.

You will now enter a mini-game, you can control the Sphinxes by using the arrow keys.

  • Ozan: Activate your musical instruments.

The player will begin to play the Snake Charm and Ozan will play his guitar.

  • Ozan: *Sings* Let's begin by both making a O shape!

A yellow line will appear, follow it to make a O shaped form.

  • Ozan: *Sings* Good job player. Let's now create a Z shape!

A yellow line will appear, follow it to make a Z shaped form.

  • Ozan: *Sings* That's the way we do it! Let's create a A!

A yellow line will appear, follow it to make a A shaped form.

  • Ozan: *Sings* And lets finish with a N!

A yellow line will appear, follow it to make a N shaped form.

  • Ozan: *Sings* Gooooooo! Ozan!
  • Player: I'm not sure if you are taking this seriously... I doubt this will work...
  • Ma'at: Your song has entertained me. I looked into your hearts and I saw they were pure, I shall descent so you can tell me why you wished to summon me.

The Ma'at will descent, a beautiful blue bird with golden stripes and some human-like features.

  • Ma'at: You've must have a reason why you summoned me, not many people find my pillar and if they do they think they think they see a mirage.
  • Ozan: How does this pillar work? It seems to move from time to time?
  • Ma'at: My savior who freed me from Menaphos led me to this pillar. It's origins are unknown to me, I think the pillar got cursed by something and therefore appears at another location from time to time... But I find that most relaxing as that makes it harder for people to find me.
  • Player: Don't you like people?
  • Ma'at: I love all people with a pure heart, but beauty could result in greed... People are usually obsessed with my feathers. They believe them to have magical abilities...
  • Player: Well they kinda do!
  • Ma'at: You are after my feathers?

The Ma'at turns red with black stripes and appears to be on fire.

  • Player: No, trust me we are not, but we will need your help.

The Ma'at returns to her blue form.

  • Ma'at: I forgot you two had pure hearts... Sorry that you had to see my dark form.
  • Ozan: Right now there is a creature in serious pain, he is corrupted by a evil mage known as The Magister.
  • Ma'at: And you believe my feathers could help to cleanse the corruption? I do not let you pluck me...
  • Player: No, we would like you to sing to the Kalphite. Your voice might be able to purify him.
  • Ma'at: Alright I will, you must bring me as you summoned me.
  • Ozan: Follow me then I will bring you to the location. Player you must get Leela, once she is there we can begin.

Ozan and the Ma'at will walk to the direction of the Kalphite Hive.

  • Sphinx: I think we are done here.
  • Sphinx 2: Let's not give Ozan any riddles again.

The Sphinxes fly away.

  • Player: Ozan never told me about Sphinxes, I wonder why, it is a good story...

The Guardians[]

Make your way back to the Mastuba and talk with Leela who is inside along with Senliten.

  • Senliten: Greetings player.
  • Leela: Have you found the Ma'at yet?
  • Player: I actually did! But I couldn't have done it without Ozan!
  • Leela: Really? That's very good of him.
  • Player: Yes, Ozan asked me if you could come to the Exiled Kalphite hive.
  • Leela: I am afraid I can't... What if those thugs attack the pyramid again?
  • Senliten: I got my own methods of defending myself but the pyramid itself is unguarded. Safe for the curse.
  • Player: Why is it such a problem then? Let them in and they become skeletons.
  • Senliten: Is that really a fate that you wish you anybody? That's something even your worst enemy doesn't truly deserve. Besides the curse is thousands of years old, it may be not as strong as it used to be.
  • Player: So what should we do then?
  • Leela: Maybe we could let the Ugthanatos guard the pyramid, they are loyal, honorable, trustworthy and they can hold themselves against very strong opponents.
  • Player: Not to forgot that Urluk one of the high ranked Ugthanatos is a good friend of mine.
  • Leela: Indeed, could you ask Urluk if he could send some of his warriors here?
  • Player: Yes, I could try!
  • Senliten: Good luck player.

Make your way to the Ugthanatos Pyramid on the Camel Warriors island. You can get there very quick by using the upgraded version of a Camulet or Cramulet. Enter the Pyramid and talk with Urluk who is located there.

  • Urluk: It's good to see you player player. I think I've finished my research about Tuska.
  • Player: The huge Dune?
  • Urluk: Turns out that The Tuska will eventually crash from space onto Gielinor within the waters of the Unquiet Ocean between the Kharidian Desert and Karamja very close to The Rock.
  • Player: You mean The Tuska is a meteorite?
  • Urluk: Yes, and the impact will shock the earth and will create a tsunami large enough to flood half of Karamja and the Desert and large parts of both south-Asgarnia and south-Misthalin. Many people will die...
  • Player: That's horrible is there nothing we can do? Can't we destroy the meteorite before it hits Gielinor?
  • Urluk: I don't think that can happen. It's course will be set, even if it could be destroyed, I think that various smaller meteorites will crash, which will also result in many deaths...
  • Player: And what if somehow the meteorite can be slowed?
  • Urluk: That could at least decrease the force of the impact... The Ugthanatos posses magics that can slow down objects.
  • Player: Then couldn't you send some Ugthanatos to the area near the impact site and slower The Tuska down?
  • Urluk: The problem is that if people see us using magic that powerful, they will become scared of us, and possibly declare war to us.
  • Player: You are master of illusions aren't you, can't you make yourself invisible?
  • Urluk: Brilliant, absolutely Brilliant player. You may have saved thousands of lives today. Well done!
  • Player: You're welcome. There is something I would like to ask you.
  • Urluk: What's the problem my friend?
  • Player: The Uzer Mastaba keeps getting attacked by humans, I would like to ask you if you could send some camel warriors to guard it.
  • Urluk: A reasonable request. I will send some of the Ugthanatos to guard the Mastaba, as you've helped me before.
  • Player: Thank you Urluk, that will help me a lot.
  • Urluk: Good luck with your adventures and I will see you another time!
  • Player: Goodbye!

Return to the Mastaba (Where you can see camel warriors at the place where the bandit looters once walked) and talk with Leela.

  • Senliten: Greetings player.
  • Leela: Did the Ugthanatos agree to guard the pyramid?
  • Player: Yes they did, they are guarding outside as we speak.
  • Senliten: Well done player, the Ugthanatos will prove themselves to be most capable guards.
  • Leela: Could you escort me to the Exiled Kalphite Hive?
  • Player: Yes, follow me!

Return to the Kalphite King[]

Both Leela and the player will meet with Ozan and the Ma'at at the Exiled Kalphite Hive.

  • Ozan: What took you so long?
  • Leela: Is this payback about me saying that earlier to you?
  • Ozan: No, I was worried about you two. *whispers* Also I started to get bored but don't tell the Ma'at I said that.
  • Player: We are save and all, don't worry Ozan.
  • Ma'at: So where are we waiting on? Let's begin. I want to return to my pillar.
  • Leela: Are you ready player? Keep in mind that we may have to fight the Corrupted Kalphite King.
    • Yes, let's go.
      • Ozan, Leela, the Ma'at and the player enter the exiled kalphite hive.
    • No, I need to prepare.
      • Leela: Return to me once you are ready.
Het chathead

The group will descent in the hive and will go to the kalphite kings liar entrance, there Het, Apmeken and Crondis appear.

  • Player: Did you manage to find The Magister?
  • Het: No, he is as slippery as a snake, he managed to get away.
  • Ozan: Are you here to help us to clean the corruption?
  • Apmeken: I am afraid we cannot enter his liar, the corruption prevent us from entering...
  • Leela: Not to insult you but why are you here then?
  • Crondis: We can grand you one, but only one divine blessing that will help you against the Kalphite king.
  • Het: As player did save the three of us, he will get the right to choose.
  • Player: Alright, what can I choose?
  • Het: I could bless you with my power, so you will be stronger within the liar.
  • Het's blessing will increase your offensive and defensive stats with 10%.
  • Apmeken: I can bless you with my power, so if the three of you are together, you will be stronger, but if you are further away from each other it will not have effect.
  • Apmekens blessing will increase the groups offensive and defensive stats with a maximum of 30% if the trio is close to each-other, but it will not work if you are further away from each-other.
  • Crondis: I can bless you with my power, so if you can overcome your need to eat to much at once, you will find that your food heals yourself more.
  • Crondis blessing will allow your food to heal you with double as much if you do not eat for 6 seconds.
  • Het: Pick the blessing you wish, and choose wisely.
  • Who would you like to bless you?
    • Het's physical strength.
    • Apmeken's teamwork.
    • Crondis's modesty.
    • Could you repeat the blessings and what they do again?

If you click on one of the blessings a confirm screen appears. If you click yes the chosen god will bless you with it's power. After you activated the boost you cannot switch and the Ma'at, Ozan, Leela and you will enter the King's Lair.

  • The god that blessed you: Good luck!
Corrupted Kalphite King boss map

A full boss map of the Corrupted Kalphite King's liar.

Where the fight earlier was more of a cut scene then a real fight, this time you fight for real against the corrupt kalphite king. The corrupted kalphite king has a combat level 3500 and has 500.000 Life Points, although you will not have to kill him your goal is to destroy the soul obelisk that The Magister placed in the center of the room. As soon as you enter the instance, there will be 3 Corrupted Kalphite Marauders and 3 Corrupted kalphite Guardians. The Ma'at will sing and as long as she sings the corrupted Kalphites will be attackable, however if she is forced to move or dies she will stop singing and the kalphite king will be immune to all sorts of damage and his minions will be immune if you do not have 100Slayer-icon. When Ma'at dies it is better to exit the instance and restart it. Last there is the soul obelisk that has 50.000 life points, it is immune to any sort of attack but the Charge from the Corrupted Kalphite King can destroy with 10.000 life points. The obelisk will randomly drain your running energy, Summoning points, prayer points, Adrenaline, or life points, with the effect increasing the closer you are to the obelisk. The fight will begin with a cutscene, the kalphite king will charge towards Ozan, Leela and the player.

  • Ozan: This is gonna hurt...

However the Kalphite king will crash into the soul obelisk reducing the lp of it by 10.000 (so it becomes 40.000).

  • Ozan: Maybe we can somehow let the Kalphite King destroy the obelisk?

Like the normal Kalphite King it is able to use it's melee, ranged and magic phase (which he randomly changes) and has all the attacks, the wings of the corrupted kalphite king will visibly change but still look corrupted. It will summon marauders and guards to aid him in combat (although rarely) and it will be able to use the beetlejuice instant kill attack, however it will have to charge for 5 seconds, send out a warning message and it will not completely paralyze the player, thus it could be easily avoided, in fact it can be used to kill one of his minions! It is also able to use his dig attack, hitting 5.000, however it can also be used to let the obelisk fall, increasing the chance that the Kalphite King hits it with his charge attack and removes most of the negative effect from the soul obelisk. Ozan and Leela will both aid you with ranged (they can be hurt but they will not die) and the Ma'at will sing so all monsters can be attacked, sometimes she is being forced to move by guardian or marauder thus ensure they are either voked or killed if they attack her. The Kalphite king will attack slightly slower then he normally does and has a increased chance to use his charge ability. Despite how it looks the corrupted kalphite king bossfight is do-able, especially thanks to the blessing given earlier by one of the gods. If you managed to defeat the corrupted kalphite king or destroy the obelisk a cutscene will play.

  • Corrupted Kalphite King: WWWWWRRRRRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!
  • The Corrupted Kalphite King will fall on the floor and will turn back to his normal form
  • Ozan: We... We did it!
  • Ma'at: *whispers* That was impressive!
  • Leela: Whats wrong?
  • Ma'at: *whisper* After all that singing, I got problems with my voice...
  • Player: Thank you for your help, without you we wouldn't even be able to fight with the kalphite king.
  • Ma'at: *whispers* Can I go now? I would like to rest at my pillar.
  • Leela: Of course you can go thank you for helping us out!
  • The Ma'at flies away and the Kalphite King wakes up.
  • Kalphite King: Urgh... You 3 gave me quite the fight. I know I was corrupted and all but I could see you fighting me.
  • Player: Are you alright now?
  • The kalphite king activate his beetlejuice at the remains of the obelisk, fully destroying it.
  • Kalphite King: A bit stiff, but further I seem to be fine. You 3 deserve a reward.

The Kalphite king gives you 100 noted Damaged chitins it has a 0.5% chance that one of these is a Perfect chitin.

  • Kalphite King: These came off during the fight, I do no longer really need them. I assume you can use them, even damaged, my chitin are really strong.
  • Player: Thank you!
  • Kalphite King: I do have 1 final reward which is only for, [Player]. You've fought like a real champion and therefore I will give this.

The Kalphite king gives you a broken (with 20% remaining) unrepairable and untradeable Drygore longsword, Drygore mace or Drygore rapier (can also be a offhand version), it cannot be augumented and unlike normal Drygore weaponry it degrades to dust. It can be disambled giving you one Rumbling component.

  • Player: Thank you your majesty.
  • Kalphite King: Now if you do not mind me I will go to my wife.
  • Player: Wait, do you happen to know where scarabas is? We must find him before The Magister does...
  • Kalphite King: I do actually. I shall give you a riddle, if you can answer it you shall find Scarabas.
  • Player: Why don't you just tell me the location?
  • Kalphite King: As my religion forbids it and The Magister might still be listening. "The chosen has already seen him but has yet to interact with him. Take your heart where the was either is or was", but [player] you will have to go by yourself.
  • The Kalphite King walks out the room.

*Ozan: I think he mispronounced it... Was sound a lot like Scabaras?

  • Leela: Maybe he gave a riddle or something?
  • Player: I think it is indeed a riddle and I think I've solved it already.
  • Leela: That's great! Where can we find him?
  • Player: I am afraid the Kalphite King told me I will have to do it alone, it think I'm the chosen...
  • Leela: That's fine, then I will return to the Pyramid and see if it got attacked.
  • Ozan: I will see if I can get some information from the leader of The Horned Beetles who they are working for... As these attacks keep happening I better ensure that we could kill it at the source...
  • Player: Good luck the both of you!

Scabaras[]

Dung kalphite

Equip your Desert amulet and go to the Kalphite Nursery Enter the nursery, take the Bronze Scimitar (if you do not have a slashing or stabbing weapon) and slide down the tunnel entrance on the eastern side. At the end of the tunnel enter the exit, you will then enter a room with a sun-dial and be able to mine the crack in the floor. Entering the crack leads directly to Scabaras tomb. Click on the sole Dung kalphite that crawls trough the tomb to interact with him.

  • Player: Hello?
  • The dung kalphite looks at you. He looks scared.
  • Player: Do you know where Scabaras is?
  • The dung kalphite looks at you. It looks puzzled.
  • Player: I am talking to a dung beetle...
  • The dung kalphite looks at you. It looks like he laughs at you.
  • Player: Strange... Did the little bug laugh?
  • The dung kalphite looks at you. It suddenly looks really normal.
  • Player: I get the feeling that you are not a normal dung kalphite...
  • The dung kalphite looks at you. It suddenly looks a bit nervous.
  • Player: Maybe I can presure him to talk.

Click on Slide open dung kalphite.

  • The dung kalphite looks at you. It looks angry.
  • Player: You are not a normal dung kalphite aren't you?
  • The dung kalphite looks at you. It looks bigger then before.
  • Player: W-what's happening?
  • The dung kalphite looks at you. It does no longer look like a dung kalphite.
Scabaras chathead

The dung kalphite turns into Scabaras.

  • Player: Scabaras!
  • Scabaras: You've found me. I am no longer isolated... How did you find out it was me?
  • Player: The Kalphite king gave me a hint after I saved him.
  • Scabaras: The Magister corrupted him indeed... I knew it was happening but with Amascut seeking to corrupt me, I didn't dare to act.
  • Player: I understand... I managed to purify him.
  • Scabaras gives you a proud look. Somehow it reminds you to the dung kalphite's look.
  • Scabaras: You are a true warrior player. Even I couldn't have imagined that you would have grown this much.
  • Player: We've met before?
  • Scabaras: Yes, remember when you and your friend stole the Kharid-ib?
  • Player: Yes... Wait you were the reason why we where at the cave with all the dung kalphites?
  • Scabaras: Yes, I was hoping that I could hide it from Amascut's grip. But she eventually managed to get it despite my efforts...
  • Player: I'm sorry, I may have been the reason why she got it but she threatened to kill the prince...
  • Scabaras: I do not blame you, with our without your act she would have gotten it eventually. You simply saved the prince's live and ensured that Al Kharid didn't fell into evil hands. Therefore once I saw you enter this cave for the first time I allowed you to take the mask that my high priests used to wear.
  • Player: Before they became all scarab-man... Ish?
  • Scabaras: Yes, eventually they became enlightened to a new form that is worthy to my followers.
  • Player: Yes, I encountered the Scabarites multiple times.
  • Scabaras: They were corrupted by Amascut but you've even managed cleanse the corruption that was brought upon every Scabarite, even my High Priest. I want to thank you for that.
  • Player: You are welcome.
  • Scabaras: You even managed to cleanse the corruption that she brought upon my sisters and my brother. You've accomplished more these years then some accomplish in an entire lifetime. I am proud to see you now.
  • Player: I don't know what to say...
  • Scabaras: You do not always need to speak, sometimes silence gives the true meaning of words. You did however break me out my isolation, but when I look at The Magisters efforts I think it's about time that I return to the surface. I wonder if I should unite myself with my sisters and brother or stay alone.
    • Unite yourself with your sisters and brother, together you stand strong.
      • Scabaras: You spoke like my sister, I see you are not unfamiliar with her wisdom. Thank you for your advice.
    • Stay alone so you will still be a sort of isolated.
      • Scabaras: I've always be alone so it might be indeed better to stay in my element. Thank you for your advice.
  • Player: You are welcome.
  • Scabaras: Do you have any questions?
  • Player: I do have one question... Why did you hide all that time as a dung kalphite?
  • Scabaras: Dung kalphites often are overlooked, not deemed worthy, people think of them as the lowest life form. Due to the dung people often avoid these small insects. I wanted no-one to find me, unless it was necessary and as a dung kalphite that is hidden within a tomb that is lost in time, no one should have found me. But you managed to do that eventually. I do not blame you or anything, however I will wash my hands as there is dung everywhere.
  • Player: Yes... I smell it too... Alright, what should I do then?
  • Scabaras: I think I should meet with my brothers and sisters about how we should deal with "The Devourer" in Icthlarin's fortress.
  • Player: Does Icthlarin have a fortress of himself?
  • Scabaras: Yes, the fortress was originally build to aid Icthlarin with herding souls through the underworld. It is located at the other edge of the River Noumenon, the river of death.
  • Player: River of death?
  • Scabaras: Noumenon is an endless river deep beneath Gielinor that separates it from the gates of the Underworld. When people die, their souls are reaped and brought to the river and from there the ferryman ferries them over. At the gates of the Underworld itself, the souls are met by Icthlarin. You can get there by going through the door to the realm of death.
  • Player: But I asked what I should do.
  • Scabaras: You should go to the fortress as well and speak with Icthlarin. He might know what you should do.

Editting[]

The realm of Death[]

Go to Death's office by using the Draynor lodestone and go trough the door, if you haven't completed Nomad's Elegy yet death will begin to talk with you.

  • Death: What do you think you are doing?
  • Player: I must go to Icthlarin's Fortress and talk with Icthlarin.
  • Death: I can see that it is important. Go ahead.
  • Player: Thank you.

You will arrive at a large bridge with a huge river below it, that could also previously be seen in the 2015 Hallowe'en event and Nomad's Elegy. Walk over the bridge and enter the great fortress which was also entered during Nomad's Elegy, if you completed it your player will say.

  • Player: I do have a weird feeling that I've been here before... Deja vu?
  • A unknown voice explains to you that you haven't but that you will go here in the future, whenever that may be.
  • Player: So I've seen this in the future? That's illogical...
  • Just pretend it's your first time, okay?
  • Player: Okay...

Go to Icthlarin, Het, Apmeken, Crondis and Scabaras who are in the lower level of the fortress in the middle of the room.

  • Icthlarin: Hello player, Scabaras told me that you would come. Het, Apmeken and Crondis, you've got your orders.
  • Het, Apmeken and Crondis teleport away.
  • Player: Do you have a task for me?
  • Icthlarin: I happen to have a task for you. As you may know the believe and faith in the Desert is really low right now... Some people still believe but there are many people that doubt the existence, especially the poor souls that had the plague in Sophanem...
  • Player: Had? Does that mean the plague is cured? That's amazing!
  • Icthlarin: Het and his sisters indeed solved the magical plague. But where was I. You should ask the High Priest of Icthlarin who is located in Sophanem. Tell him that he and his clerics should hold a ancient ceremony to increase the believe to the desert gods, so the hope will be restored to the desert. Then we will be able to confront Amascut and hopefully redeem her.
  • Player: So all I have to do is talk with the High Priest of Icthlarin in Sophanem?
  • Icthlarin: Not exactly, the high priest will also need the masks that were once worn by the desert gods.
  • Player: Yes, you mean those mask that came from tombs such as the one Scabaras was in?
  • Scabaras: Indeed, without the mask the ancient ritual will never work.
  • Player: I happen to have taken some/all of them? They are in my bank/inventory as we speak?
  • Icthlarin: Those are simple decoy masks I am afraid. They are purely cosmetic and hold no magical abilities whatsoever. They were originally created to fool plunders. But later the tombs were blessed so that only the ones that proven their worth to the god can enter.
  • Player: So where is the real mask?
  • Scabaras: All decoy masks are on a table with a statue of the respective god behind it, that statue does have the real mask.
  • Player: So I need to take the masks and bring them to the High priest in Sophanem?
  • Scabaras: I also have a little awkward request... You will also need to take what the statue wears.
  • Player: I need to strip the statues? I am not sure if that fit's in a children's game!
  • Scabaras: And you will have to take two of each: Ankh, Heka, Nekhakha and the Was.
  • Player: That seems like a plan, I will begin to start collecting the equipment.
  • Scabaras: If you like I can teleport you to my tomb.
  • Player: Why can't you take the equipment yourselves then?
  • Icthlarin: The equipment is magically enchanted so that no divine being can touch it. It's to prevent Amascut from breaking into the tomb and stealing all relics. She could be increasingly dangerous with those.
  • Scabaras: So would you like to be teleported to the tomb?
    • Yes I would like that!
      • Scabaras teleports you to his tomb.
    • No, I did rather walk by myself.
      • Scabaras: You are really proud, if you change your mind talk to us.
      • You will have to begin with Scabaras statue so do not go to Hets, Apmekens or Crondis tomb yet!

Statue Stripper[]

This can be done with any order, though the player must begin with Scabaras. The guide has been written in a certain order therefore the dialogue may be different if you do it in another order.

Scabaras statue[]

If you choose to walk to the tomb do that by going to the Kalphite Nursery and walk though the tunnels to go to the Scabaras Tomb. Click on the statue of Scabaras and you will strip the statue.

  • Player: Ewwww, I touched something I didn't want to touch... Why does anything have to be so realistic?

Once the statue is stripped a cutscene will play.

  • The Magister: Curse you [player], I know that Scabaras has returned and what you are planning, let's see if you can deal with this!

Varrious corrupted scarabs appear, they work the same as the Corrupted Scarabs in Menaphos. They can be burst to gain a small amount of Reputation and a high amount of Slayer experience. However, this also deals damage to the player that varies based on their Constitution level. You can spamclick them if you do happen to have food to get increased exp and reputation, if you do not have food you can deal with them without dying by clicking only once on all of them. Once they are dispatched do not forget to take 2 of the Wasses.

  • Player: It seems like the tomb is no longer protected once the statue is stripped... I've got the feeling that The Magister will send some minions when I strip the other statues... This was a weird sentence to say...

Crondis Statue[]

Go to Portmaster Kags in the Port district in Menaphos and travel with him to the Crondis's pyramid. Enter it and swimming through the underwater tunnel east of the entrance to get to the Crondis Tomb. Strip the statue.

  • Player: Even her clothes are modest... I feel a bit weird doing this.
  • The Magister: I don't know how you defeated my scarab plague, but let's see how you deal with this!

3 Crocodile akhs will appear, they will be less powerful then the version that are encountered below Sophanem and do not have the slayer requirement to kill either. Be careful however for their tailslam attack, which if not avoided will hit massive damage (3000+). Once they are defeated do not forget to take 2 Nekhakhas and continue to the next location.

Apmekens Statue[]

Apmeken's tomb entrance

The entrance to Apmekens tomb.

Apmeken tomb can be entered through a crack in the cliff wall immediately south in the Monkey Colony, east of the Bandit Camp.

Strip the statue.

  • Player: This is monkey business...
  • The Magister: Even for a villain this is weird to see...
  • Player: Yes, I didn't write this quest...
  • The Magister: Whatever... Fight my gorillas!

3 Gorilla akhs will appear, they will be less powerful then the version that are encountered below Sophanem and do not have the slayer requirement to kill either. Be careful for his fast melee hits, which if not avoided deal massive damage and will stun the player. Once they are defeated do not forget to take 2 Ankhs and continue to the next location.

Hets Statue[]

The entrance to Het tomb is located behind the Het statue in the centre of the Duel Arena. Strip the statue.

  • Player: Thank Het, that this is the last one! Never ever ever again!
  • The Magister: I think you've predicted it already, but I shall send my minions to kill you!

A Imperial warrior akh, Imperial ranger akh and a Imperial mage akh will appear, like the others they will be less powerful then the version that are encountered below Sophanem and do not have the slayer requirement to kill either. Be careful for type advantage and their abilities, especially their stuns can be a hindrance. Once they are defeated do not forget to take 2 Hekas.

  • Player: I think I have everything... I better go to the High Priest in Sophanem...

Amascut and Icthlarin masks[]

High Priest (Sophanem) chathead

Make your way to the High Priest in Sophanem.

  • High Priest: Good day, player.
  • Player: Greetings, cleric.
  • High Priest: How can I help you?
  • Player: I was told by Icthlarin to ask you if you could perform some sort of ritual?
  • High Priest: You were given a task by Icthlarin himself? What sort of ritual?
  • Player: A ritual to return hope to the desert, I had to take some masks of the desert gods among with other items.
  • High Priest: I have learned about such ritual... If I am not mistaken you are speaking about the ritual of the sun.
  • Player: I do have the items required for the ritual with me, would you like me to give them to you?
  • High Priest: Well done player, could you give them to me?
  • You give the high priest the items required for the ritual of the sun.
  • High Priest: I am afraid that you do miss some items...
  • Player: What do you mean? I have all the masks?
  • High Priest: Yes, you do have the mask of the "lesser gods", yet I will also need the mask of Icthlarin and even Amascut in order to perform the ritual... The mask of Icthlarin should be easy to obtain, but the mask of Amascut will be more troublesome...
  • Player: Shall I begin with the mask of Icthlarin? Where do you think that I can find his tomb? I've never seen it before.
  • High Priest: Well considering Icthlarin is the god of dead, it likely is somewhere within this city. Sophanem is the city of dead after all. Possibly in a very religious place, such as this temple...
  • Player: Is this temple that ancient?
  • High Priest: Not really, this is build only a few hundred years ago, it's indeed a old and magnificent building, but the masks were hidden in the tombs thousands of years ago... Maybe my predecessor could help you?
  • Player: Forgive me that I ask, but who was your predecessor again?
  • High Priest: Klenter, you can find him within his pyramid, that could be found slightly north of here.
  • Player: Do I have to go through all the traps again?
  • High Priest: So you do remember the traps but not the previous high priest, whose canopic jar you stole? But no, you can also use the secret entrance,in the back of the pyramid, as long as you do have a cat with you.
  • Player: What secret entrance?
  • The high priest of Icthlarin gives you a ancient relic that is shaped in the form of a bowl.
  • High Priest: This is the relic that the priest use to get in the back of Klenters pyramid, once you are to the pyramid's back hold the relic in the sky and it shall show you the hidden path.
  • Player: Thank you for this relic, but then I am inside the pyramid what do I need to do then?
  • High Priest: Then you will have to go to Klenters chamber, where his sarcophagi and the canopic jars are located. Then you should say his name, then he will appear to you.
  • Player: Thank you for your advise.
  • High Priest: Be careful though, after what you did within Klenters pyramid before, we've increased the security within his chamber.
  • Player: Alright, I will keep that in mind, thank you for the warning. Is there anything else I should know?
  • High Priest: Not that I know off, I think it's safe to go now... I wish you good luck.

Go to the back of Klenter's Pyramid and click on activate the ancient relic, the player will hold the relic up and the sun will reflect the sunbeam towards one of the pyramid and it activate some sort of mechanism and a hidden door opens. Enter the opening and you will appear in the hall that is just past the large pit jump, with a room in the east and one in the west. Go to the western room, you will get the same puzzle that you had to do with Icthlarin's Little Helper.

Once you enter 4 guardian mummies (level 100) will appear, they attack with all styles being able to switch between them, making it difficult to defend against, however eventually they will use the style which you are weak against, if you then activate prayer the damage will be less and they may change their combat styles again. Despite this ability they are not hard to defeat for most players. Click on interact with at the Sarcophagi and then type: "Klenter".

  • Player: Klenter.
  • Nothing interesting happens
  • Player: Klenter!
  • Klenter will appear before the player.
  • Klenter: You summoned me, that means you either wish to speak to me or that you will try to disrupt my rest... again...
  • Player: I am sorry about the past but I couldn't help it. I was hypnotized by Amascut back then.
  • Klenter: I feel that you do speak the truth. You've got a reason you are here, please tell me because I grow weary from the mortal realm...
  • Player: You keep getting disturbed by adventurers that are hypnotized by Amascut?
  • Klenter: Sadly yes... However she tries other methods now... Was that your question?
  • Player: No, I am looking for the tomb of Icthlarin where his mask is hidden and I was wondering if you know where that could be located.
  • Klenter: Icthlarin's ancient tomb is located in the ruins south of Sophanem. There was a time that these where part of Sophanem and the first temple of Icthlarin was build there. Eventually it was destroyed by Amascut's force and it was moved to the northern side of Sophanem.
  • Player: So you think it's in the ruins south of Sophanem?
  • Klenter: Yes, or it should at least give you a clue where to find it. But if you are searching for Icthlarin's ancient tomb, does that mean you are looking for the Mask of Icthlarin?
  • Player: Yes actually, the new high priest is looking to perform the ritual of the sun.
  • Klenter: I know the ritual, but that means that you will also need the Mask of Amascut...
  • Player: Yes, but that may be troublesome, all the tombs where the masks can be found are somehow enchanted, I can only enter if I did something to please the respective god, but how can I please Amascut, all she wishes are evil things... Do I have to do something evil in order to get that mask? Or could I somehow force her to let me in?
  • Klenter: I am afraid you will have to do something that please Amascut.
  • Player: I once was tricked by Amascut to "save her" which I did... Would that work?
  • Klenter: Getting tricked to serve a god doesn't count as serving a god I am afraid, I however might have the solution to this problem...
  • Player: What solution do you think about?
  • Klenter: It is not easy to suggest this, but I think you should offer my soul to Amascut...

As soon as you enter the

  • Player: And the Amascut mask? She will never see me as worthy, I doubt she sees anyone as worthy...
  • Icthlarin: Her tomb is located within the ruins of the Temple of Amascut, you've been there before, when you gave my sister the Kharid Ib...
  • Player: Would you think I am worthy because I gave her the Ib?
  • Icthlarin: No, you are not even in depth with her, she gave you the prince in return.
  • Player: When I attempted to steal the canopic jar and let Amascut within the temple?
  • Icthlarin: That was no loyalty I hope, I know you were hypnotized and did it against your will. Besides you failed to accomplish the task and access to Sophanem may have been a reward already.
  • Player: And Amascut already rewarded me for saving Jesmona... So what should I do, do something to which Amascut can reward me for?
  • Icthlarin: No, whatever you would do, it would be horrible and affect the desert in the most horrible ways imaginable...
  • Player: So... How should I get the mask?
  • Icthlarin: Get the mask of Amascut first, I may think of something...

Turn this into the high priest.

  • Break her slayer mastership (Catolax will be the replacement.
  • Icthlarin already respects you.

What's still left to do[]

  • Gauntlet of souls
  • Be able to return to menaphos
  • The Devourer is not my sister, mortal. Amascut is not herself. When our father gave his life to save the Kharid it changed her. He left all his responsibilities to me, as punishment for the decisions I had made. Amascut saw this not as my punishment, but as her failing. She never believed she had earned his forgiveness after being sent to the gates of the Underworld. My sister had been left with nothing. The pain in her heart drove her into the darkness from which she was never to return. Perhaps if I had done things differently… If I had not left… No, hope is not lost. I can still bring her back, Player. I can still save my sister. First, though, we must defeat her here. (gauntlet of souls)

Lapalok could be a possible enemy.

  • N.B. It has come to my awareness that a select few are beginning to realise the power of the dead. Clearly Amascut has already discovered this, consuming enough souls to earn herself the title of The Devourer, but I have also heard rumours of another. One I fear has even grander goals...

By sixth age 6th age lore:

  • No desert god can die yet as they still live in the 6th age (death of chivalry)
  • Amascut must still stay mad. The Devourer is a different personality. (possibly Seruraeus).
  • The arrival of [player name] can only mean that I succeeded.
All the magister dialogue that matters.[]

But there's more. I have felt it. There resides here a soul of tremendous power, a soul clearly divine in nature, yet it is not whole. It is split across several pieces, many of which have changed to become, of themselves, singular entities.

One soul that has become many.

I shall bring this world into a glorious new future.

They will thank me one day.
